"Sure. I'll order something. You good with a burger?"
"More than good."
~ The perfect date
Nothing is better than a fully loaded burger for lunch.
I had ordered Cam and I's burgers right before leaving the warehouse so it'd be there shortly after we got to my place. He had made a quick stop at his house for some pot before we got comfortable on my living room floor.
Blankets, pillows, burgers, and pot surrounded the both of us as I searched for something to watch on YouTube. Cam had explained to me that food tastes better when high, so tonight I'm putting that to the test.
"Why do you reckon pot is still illegal in Aussie?" I asked Cam while lighting the joint that sat in between my lips.
"Because we have old cunts governing us. Besides, it's really not that bad. Most cops don't give much of a fuck if they see you stoned or smoking," Cam grabbed my legs and swung them over his own, "For example, on four twenty the lads and I went to this park in uptown Melbourne to give it a looksie. Literally hundreds of stoned cunts smoking everywhere. There was a high police presence and none of them intervened."
I scrunched my nose at the thought of the police not doing their jobs, but unscrunched when I realized they were just being dope cops and letting the people have fun, "So there's really no reason for it to be illegal other than the old cunts in office having a stick up their ass."
Cam nodded, "Precisely," we turned our attention towards my t.v. for the next twenty or so minutes, smoking as much as our bodies were capable of handling. After getting decently high Cam counted backwards from three, then we tore into our burgers.
I hate to admit it, but I literally moaned as I took my third bite.
"Half an hour into the first date and I already have you moaning? I must be doing something right," Cam laughed with his mouth half full, making me choke on my burger.
"Did you just say date?" I managed to say after my coughing ceased. I could tell my face was bright red, not a pretty sight.
Cam stopped mid chew and looked down at me. The mood in the room went from jokes to seriousness in a split second, "I mean, yeah. I-I thought we had something nice going on here," he gestured to the room around him, "So why shouldn't this be our first date? YouTube, pot, burgers. This is the dream."
"You know, you're right. And it just caught me off guard, that's all. But yes. First date. Fuck yeah," I held my hand up for a high-five, but Cam ignored it. Instead of slapping my hand he locked our fingers and leaned in for a kiss.
"You taste like burger," Cam and I said at the same exact time. We stared at each other, speechless for a few seconds before bursting into a fit of laughter.
"Well uh," I chuckled, "I enjoyed that. Also jinx, you owe me a coke."
"Jinx? In fifth year again, are we?" Cam teased, poking a finger into my side.
I jumped away from him, "Yes. You owe me a coke."
"Just a single coke?" He asked with an amused smile on his face.
"One coke please!"
"It'll be pretty hard to sift through the cocaine to get one single coke but I think I'll be able to get that for you," Cam scratched the back of his neck as his smile grew larger.
I placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, "You know I really appreciate the effort. You're truly the best man I know."
"Ryan would be offended, but I won't tell him you said so."
