"He took his fucking car!" I yelled out to Cam and hopped in the passenger side, knowing he'd want to drive.

I'm too high for this shit.

Everyone, aside from Ryan, met up at Erics house. It was the first place we checked in hopes of him running there. But alas, the only thing we found was a set of tire marks on the ground which were likely put there by Eric when he left.

"So where do we find a drunk man who just found his girlfriend of five years sleeping with another man? I've got things to do," Toby asked as he walked up to us. He had been getting his nails done when Cam called him, so only half on one hand were done.

"Is there a bar or somewhere he likes to go?" I pipe up into the conversation.

Mason shook his head, "The cunt doesn't do bars. Every time we try and get him to go with us he never fails to say no."

"Any favorite places?"

"Not that we know of," Matt shrugged.

I huffed in frustration and stood next to Jay. These guys are supposed to know each other in and out, and they don't know where Eric likes to hang out? The third day I knew Cam they mapped out what I did on a weekly basis. Neither of them wanted to bother Ryan, which was understandable. But Ryan knows Eric better than any of us- and he didn't seem concerned in the slightest. It raised my suspicions but no one wanted to hear it.

I looked over towards Jay to ask his opinion, but noticed him furiously tapping away on his phone. His eyebrows were squeezed together, frustration masked his face, and his cheeks were turning a hint of red. I watched as he clenched his jaw over and over again. Something was making him angry and it didn't seem like this was where he wanted to be.

"Creamy?" I nudged his arm with my hand. He snapped his head up to look at me and a small, fake smile appeared on his face.

"Sorry, I wasn't listening," Jay shrugged and put his phone in his pocket, "Did they figure something out?" He played with his fingers and shuffled from foot to foot. He was being antsy and impatient over something. A text back, maybe?

"Creamy, if this isn't a good time or if there's something more you need to focus on I'll cover for you," I said after pulling him away and out of ear-shot of the others.

He opened his mouth to say something, but shut it after studying my face for a split second. His fake, happy demeanor faded and a frown fell over his face, "I'd really appreciate that Void. How would you cover for me?" It was my turn to stop and think. The lads didn't do things separately that often and I figured they'd get suspicious if Jay just up and left.

If it were a family emergency, that would be more important than looking for Eric. A family emergency would give him a proper excuse for leaving. Because at the end of the day, Eric is likely hidden somewhere where he knows we wouldn't be able to find him. He's a grown ass man. I know the lads are doing this out of concern, but having one less person to look wouldn't be the end of the world.

"Why don't you say Anna is very sick out of nowhere? Food poisoning, maybe?" I suggested.

"Yeah, that'll work. I think. At least she's actually puking," Jay shrugged and stopped in his tracks, "I mean, yeah. Thanks Void, really."

"Oh, so she's actually sick?" I asked. If she's actually puking like he says, he could have said that earlier and left.

He sighed, "Something like that. I'll see you later."
