"I'm so into your Converse Highs. I can't help it. I'm so into your Converse Highs."

They talked for a few more hours then called it a day, as they were attracting the attention of some curious individuals who came from word of mouth that two idols were on an outing together. The fans were crowded around in multitudes by the time they noticed and were bringing out their phones to take unsolicited pictures. Even when the musicians put their gear on, the damage was already done, as more and more people came into the cafe.

As they gathered their things to leave, Namjoon stopped Rein with a gentle touch on her arm.

"Let me give you my number," he said, looking around, a paranoid expression on his face. She tried to keep the excitement out of her face.

"Why are you looking around like that?" she asked.

"Just in case the fans hear us... I don't want thousands of people calling and messaging me or anything."

"I think you overestimate your popularity." Namjoon smirked.

"So I'm correct in assuming you don't want my phone number, Ms. Jones?"

"Kim Namjoon, I'll give you ten seconds to put your phone number into my contacts, and if it isn't there by that time, you'll be in big trouble."

He wiggled his eyebrows, and putting in his number as quickly as possible, he said, "I'd like to see what that looks like."

I'm sure you would, Rein thought, then wondered if she was being too sure of herself. However, the way he looked at her earlier justified her arrogance. No matter how much he wanted to pretend there was nothing between them, the truth was too strong to ignore, and willpower was too weak to defend against it.

Namjoon and Rein walked out, both of them somehow knowing they would meet under the guise of excuses once again, just to have each other alone.

The pair met up regularly after the first meeting at the cafe, finding any reason possible to see each other. It started with little visits here and there at various locations, gradually increasing into long nights spent in the private corners of restaurants, cafes long forgotten.

Rein had to wonder if they were simply meetings anymore. Her feelings were getting stronger, and it was clear that Namjoon wasn't opposed to a romance between them. Then again, perhaps he never was, just doing the most professional thing in his circumstances.

What if it really was just a drunken kiss on her part? Why waste time developing an attraction that would inevitably turn into a big mess he couldn't deal with, even if he had the time for it?

But now, there were glances between them that lingered far too long, touches that lasted an eternity. Sometimes they were too close to the comfort, but the distance (or lack thereof, oftentimes) was always just right.

Rein smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror. It was December 17th, her birthday, and though she was a bit put off by the fact that she was not home to celebrate it, she wouldn't have wanted to celebrate it with anyone other than Kim Namjoon, who promised her a trip to the Lotte World for the special day. She was about to set off to meet him when she got a polite knock on her door.

"Ma'am, there's a package for you here," the gruff voice of her bodyguard said. She opened the door, thanking the guard as she retreated back into her room with the rectangular box.
