"Will you stay by my side? Will you promise me? If I let go of your hand, you'll fly away and break. I'm scared, scared, scared of that."

Rein sat in the backseat of her car, giddy with excitement as Namjoon read a book from next to her, squeezing her thigh every once in a while. They had met at an inconspicuous midpoint (the cafe, their signature meeting place, was slowly becoming a popular destination for BTS fans for some reason.) and had proceeded from there to Namjoon's house.
"Since it's a Sunday and we're technically not supposed to be working, do you wanna come over to touch-up the last of the lyrics?" he asked, voice low against the bustling city. There was something different about him when he asked.
Earnest. Like there was something more he expected.
Keeping that in mind, she agreed and called her driver to pick them up. Upon arriving, the driver waved at them unassumingly, but behind it was a suspicious glint in his eyes Rein could not ignore.
We have to be more careful.
So this was where they were now, passing through the gate to Hannam the Hill, taking in the serenity of their surroundings. The trees were bare of their colorful leaves but still beautiful in their own way. They were stark against the pale blue sky, creating asymmetrical patterns Rein never knew existed. Each section of the woods was different every time the car blurred past them.
In a few minutes, the car rolled to a stop in front of the mammoth apartment complex, and as they approached the door, Namjoon gave her a guilty smile.
"So, uh, don't be alarmed if no one's home... I kind of timed it so that they would all be out at the arcade..."
Rein laughed, saying, "I see. So you planned this right from the start, didn't you, Mr. Kim?" He rubbed the back of his head.
"Guilty as charged."
"Well, we should get started as soon as possible, then," she said. Namjoon nodded. He punched the code in to unlock the door and stepped inside, scanning his surroundings to see if anyone was home. When he was done with his inspection, he gave her a thumbs up.
"Wanna go to my room? It'll probably be more comfortable in there," he offered. Rein smiled, seeing right through his charade of gentlemanliness.
More comfortable, my ass.
"Yeah, sure," she said. They walked down the hall together, Namjoon leading the way. As she followed, she couldn't help but admire his form. His strong frame, the muscles on his arms, the way he carried himself. It was all so perfect that she was tempted to pinch herself to make sure the whole thing wasn't one vivid dream.
But everything was too real, too raw. No dream could have done that.
Suddenly, Rein heard a muffled groan, and she was sure Namjoon heard it as well from his reaction. The pair froze like a deer in headlights and looked at each other with wide eyes.
What. The. Hell.
Rein put a finger to her lips. At first, she was already whipping out her phone to call the police about an intruder, but that's when she heard another moan, this one more breathy. She took Namjoon by the hand and pulled him inside his room, the realization of who the pair were beginning to dawn on her, though she wished it hadn't. They had yet to close the door when a phrase rang out that almost gave Rein whiplash.
