Jungkook was still in the kitchen, making tea while humming. Taehyung and his grandpa sat in the living room in silence, sitting across each other.

"Taehyung.." His grandpa spoke. "I need to have a word with you."

"Okay." Taehyung gulped.

"You see, I only have one Jungkook.." Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows. Okay, Idk where this is going..

"I love him, so much. I don't think I can ever forgive myself if anything bad happens to him. I don't want Jungkook to spend his entire life taking care of me either. I want him to live his own life as him. I want him to be happy. I know it's selfish and thoughtless for me to say this to you but.." He sighed, holding onto Taehyung's hand.

"Can you.. be there for him? When I can longer be the one to take care of him."

"Me?" His eyes widened. "Wait, don't say that."

"There's no one else he can turn to. I'm almost 70 now and when I'm gone, he's.. really, completely left alone in this world. No one will watch him for me and I'm so worried."

"He's not a child.. I'm sure he can take good care of himself, grandpa."

"He sure did grew up well." He chuckled. "But he really is still a child by heart and he gets very clumsy at times. He needs someone else to take care of him and be there for him."

"What are you implying?"

"If you can, I hope you can be his friend." Taehyung's eyes widened. "To watch over him for me. That child.. I don't know what to do with him."

"I see.." Friends.. I don't think I can.. But grandpa.. He looks so worried. Fuck. Why am I being nice all of a sudden. Was it because I lost my parents too? Did it make me understand him in some kind of way? It's just friends.. but friends.. were the reason why my parents died. Can it possibly be any different?

"You don't have to think too much about it, Jungkook's a really nice person." He grinned. "I told you this because Jungkook's second home is with you. He practically lives with you so you'd be the only person most likely to be able to see him, and to protect him."

I know.. I know Jungkook's a nice person.. Which is why I was quick to offer him this job.. But.. Taehyung blushed. I'm so confused.

"I'm sorry, Taehyung.. I don't mean to-"

"Wait, it's.. complicated." He rubbed onto his head. "It's not that I won't. Just give me some time to think about it, okay?"

"Yes?" He grinned. "Yes. That's very much okay. Thanks so much, Taehyung.. for even considering it."

He hugged his grandpa.

Since when do I start hugging someone wtf.
Feels nice.

"Hm.." Taehyung lowered his head. "But what if.. I did agree to it, but end up hurting him instead.."

"You won't."

"I won't?"
"I can already see what's going on between you two." He grinned. "You won't hurt him."

"What's going on between us two?"

"AH." Jungkook yelled from the kitchen.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung quickly got up from his seat and dashed into the kitchen to have a look.

Yeah. He won't. His grandpa smirked.
