The were two sections of grass that covered the land her house was located. One section was high reaching her knees and it often became yellow from the time, while the other was cut short and was vividly green. It was like someone drew a line right in the middle and you were stepping to a different place.

That was the familiar way she knew that she was close to her house. She carried her small bag on her one arm while she tried to keep the other steady.Breaking it in three different places wasn't the best experience, and moving it sharply made her curse everything around her.

She inched closer. The sky was just turning an orange tone as the sun started to fall low behind the mountains like she had as a scenery all those years, like a live action canvas.Loud giggles echoed, that almost made her burst into tears. She was back. She would get the scolding of her life. But she was home.Alive.The arrow necklace burnt her beneath her clothes.

"Come on its my turn now!"she heard the high pitched voice of Lila say.More giggles. And there they were running around the field while playing with their ball.Kicking it and running after it.They looked so peaceful for a few seconds, she just wanted to stare at that image for the rest of her life.

"Val!"her siblings suddenly gasped, taking notice of her, before running their way to her legs and hugging her tightly. They both reached above her hip now."We missed you!Where were you?"Lila asked as she gripped her.She was only able to hold Cooper as her other hand wasn't capable of use.

"What happened to your arm?"Cooper asked before she could reply to Lila, and he looked up at her.Valerie smiled down at them.

"I had things to do,with some friends."she smiled down to the floor before quickly continuing."Oh and I fell."she white lied as she turned to look at Lila."Where's mom and dad?"

"Mom's cooking. We are going to get her!"Lila exclaimed as she grabbed her brother's arm and dragged him to the house."Mom!Val is back!Mom!"

Sighing lightly she picked her bag up again since she had thrown it to embrace her siblings and moved to the one place she knew her father would be.He was the one whom she had to see since last time they talked they had gotten into a pretty bad fight. It was the first time approaching him in days after their fight and her feelings were mixed.

She slowly rounded her familiar house, the soft spring wind pushing her hair back. The smell of flowers and grass filled her nose. The same familiar smell that hang in the air that night as well. After a few more slow steps she finally saw him.

He was wearing one of his checkered shirts and jeans as he sat on a cut off tree trunk. His shoulders hunched over.He was like this when he was brought back from Loki's spell.Shoulders hunched and hands pressed together with an unreadable expression on.

"Dad."she said quietly,a knot sitting at her throat as her eyes stung with tears. His shoulders tensed before he raised his head and turned sharply. He had grown a little bit of stubble and his eyes looked tired."You were right,"her bottom lip trembled.
"Everything that you said. And I've been stupid to not hear you.The world out there,"she lowered her head as she let the tears rolled down her cheeks."Is cruel. You don't know who to trust. And you only wanted to protect me.I'm sorry."she sniffled."I am so sorry dad."

She was suddenly wrapped in a pair of arms as she let out silent sobs. All this adventure that she had was much more painful than last time. She experienced death once more and hurt herself badly.Faced the real world. And her father was absolutely right when he tried to stop her.

"You idiot child of mine."Clint said in a teary voice as he held her against his chest. His hand on her hair to calm her down."I'm just glad you're back."he said quietly, pressing a kiss on her head.
