Third Person Point of View
"Hey, I'm in the park. Where are you guys?" Alex said into her phone, looking around for her friends. As promised, Zach and Jonah were currently going on a triple date with her and Jack.
The two boys had been arguing for ages about who would get to go on a double date with them first. In the end, Alex hit them across the back of the head again and suggested a triple date.
"We're by the tree" Jack answered. Alex stopped in her tracks, wishing the curly-haired boy could see her rolling her eyes. "We're in a park you twit, there's trees everywhere" she stated.
Jack paused for a minute before laughing into the phone. "Right, sorry. Tate distracted me" he explained. Alex breathed in quickly at the mention of Tatum. She didn't have a problem with her; she was simply nervous about meeting her and Kay.
"Are you still nervous?" Jack asked quietly so no one else would hear, sensing her hesitation. Alex kicked at the grass beneath her as a form of distraction but it didn't seem to work. "Maybe" she mumbled.
"Stop worrying, they're going to love you" he reassured, hoping to get rid of at least a little of her doubts. Alex sighed to herself but began walking again in hopes of finding her boyfriend.
"I hope you're right. Now give me better directions you plonker" Alex teased, trying to lighten the mood a little. "Hey, stop using your Britishness against me" Jack laughed.
"Jack, I'm pretty sure that thats not a word" Alex said while giggling, already feeling better. Jack chuckled into the phone as Alex continued to wander aimlessly.
"Seriously though, give me some direction" Alex said once he had calmed down. At this rate she would never get the chance to meet Tate and Kay.
Jack didn't reply and Alex was about to give out again when she heard him hang up the phone. She suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked at her phone screen in disbelief. He had actually hung up on her.
Alex frowned and was about to call him again when someone suddenly grabbed her by the waist. Her heart rate rapidly began to accelerate as her breathing quickened. A scream almost escaped her lips when a familiar voice whispered in her ear.
"Hey baby" Jack said, hugging her from behind. Alex began to calm down once she realised who it was however her heart rate was now beating quickly for another reason; he called her baby.
"Jack, you scared me half to death" she breathed out. Jack simply smiled and kissed her cheek, not letting her go. Alex wanted more than anything to stay in his arms and forget about the rest of the world but she knew the other were waiting.
"The others are waiting" Alex mumbled quietly. She was beginning to lose focus of her surroundings as she became increasingly aware of Jack's breath against her neck and his chest against her back.
He mumbled some sort of noise of acknowledgement but didn't make any move to leave and bring her to the others. Alex stayed in silence for a moment before building up her will power once more.
"Jack, come on. I need to meet Tate and Kay" she said, louder now. Jack groaned, seeming to finally get the message. However, instead of pulling away, he tightened his grip on her and then threw her over his shoulder.
Alex let out a squeal before bursting into a fit of giggles. "Jack, let me down" she eventually said once she had caught her breath again.
"I thought you wanted to go see the others" Jack said jokingly as he began to walk, still carrying her. Alex sighed and gave up fighting; she knew she would never win. Jack may not have been that tall but he was still taller than her and he was defintley a lot stronger.
Soon, Alex felt the ground beneath her feet once again and she playfully glared up at Jack. Jack grinned at her before looking over her shoulder. "This is Alex" he stated.
Alex's eyes widened as she looked up at Jack. This was how he was introducing her. She slowly turned around to be met with two of the prettiest girls she had met alongside two idiots.
They both waved at her while giggling as Alex hit Jack in the arm. "Jack, I'm going to bloody murder you" she said through gritted teeth.
"Don't worry, you guys are cute" one to the girls said. "I'm Kay by the way" she continued. Alex smiled awkwardly and waved at the girl; she did not want their first impression of her yo be that she's insane.
"And I'm Tate" the other girl said, smiling brightly at her. Jack had sat down on their picnic blanket during their introductions and was now pulling Alex down beside him, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"I'm sorry about that, Jack is an absolute twat" Alex said while shooting a glare towards the boy beside her. Jack simply grinned at her and kissed her cheek. She tried to roll her eyes and act upset but Alex couldn't stop the grin from breaking out on her face.
"Jack was right, you do have a cute accent" Tate remarked. Alex could feel her cheeks heating up as she turned her head to the ground in embarrassment.
"Yeah. Cute is definitely the word he used" Zach stated while smirking. Alex looked up at him in confusion, not understanding what he meant. However, the others seemed to know as Kay hit his arm with wide eyes and Jack began to glare daggers at him.
"So, who wants some food?" Tate said, clearly trying to change the subject but Alex brushed it aside, not questioning it any more as everyone began to eat.
The conversation continued on about the most random things ever but no one seemed to mind. Alex found herself getting closer and closer to Tate and Kay; she could see why the guys liked them.
Alex was leaning back on her hands with her eyes closed, welcoming the feel of the sun on her skin. However, she could feel Jack's gaze on her, making her squirm.
Eventually, she sighed and opened her eyes to look at him questioningly. "You've barely eaten" he stated. Alex was surprised at first, not having expected this. She wasn't even paying attention to what she had eaten.
"I guess. I'm just not really that hungry right now. I'll probably eat again later on" she answered while shrugging. Jack didn't say anything else but he still seemed worried.
"Sorry Jack, we must have forgotten the crumpets" Zach said before laughing at his own joke. Alex stared at him without saying anything, wanting more than anything to reverse time and unhear that joke.
"This is the bad thing about dating you, you're never serious" Kay said playfully while lightly pushing on Zach's shoulder in an attempt to taunt him. Zach pretended to be wounded and fell to the floor, proving the blonde girl's point.
"I have the opposite problem. Jonah is too serious" Tate said while nudging Jonah. Alex laughed at the two as Jonah frowned slightly at his girlfriend who innocently kissed his cheek.
"If rather that then Mr. Jealous over here" Alex joined in, looking up at Jack. She smiled sweetly at him as he playfully rolled his eyes.
"Really? I didn't think Jack would be the jealous kind" Kay remarked thoughtfully, causing Alex to snort.
"Oh you have no idea. He got so jealous that he stormed out of a coffee shop because I was talking to one of my friends - who has a girlfriend - since I haven't seen him in a long time" Alex recalled, laughing at Jack as he looked away in embarrassment.
"That does sound like Jack" Zach stated as the girls burst into laughter. Jack sat in silence, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck with his hand, and Alex grabbed his hand, interlacing their fingers.
He looked down at her and she smiled at him, squeezing his hand in reassurance. No mater how much she teased him about being jealous, she wouldn't trade him for anyone else.
