"What about her?"

"She looks like a nice kid. What's her name?"

"June Jones. Would you like to meet her Mr. Rogers?"

"Yeah, I thing so. Bucky?"

"Whatever you want."

The adoption lady lead them towards me. She had a straight face like she always did. No emotion. She didn't want to get kid's hopes up. The two guys following her both had smiles. Though one's smile wasn't as big as the others.

I turned back to my book, but I knew she was getting close. The clicking of her heels became louder and there was nervous whispering from the guys behind her.

"June, say hello to Steve Rogers and James Barnes."

I looked up at them. The blond one had a big smile on his face. The one with brown hair was trying to smile. I think he knew this might not work.

"Hey. I'm June Jones," I said like I had been taught. I stood up to shake their hands. I reached out to the guy with brown hair first. He was hesitant to take my hand.

"James Barnes," he said when he shook my hand.

So the big ball of sunshine is Steve Rogers then. I reached out and shook his hand.

"I'll leave you to talk. Tell me what you guys decide," the adoption lady said. She turned on her heel and left.

We sat down at a table away from everyone. James wanted to sit away from everyone. I was fine with it.

"Do you have any questions for us?" Steve asked.

"Uh, yeah. When did you serve?" I motioned to the dog tags around James's neck.

He looked at Steve who shook his head.

"World War Two," he looked me right in the eye.

"Wait, you can't be serious," I looked between the two as if it was some sort of joke, "Your not kidding."

"Ever been to the Captain America museum?" Steve asked.

"Yeah?"

"We were both there in World War Two. Any names from the museum that sound familiar?"

"Steve Rogers..." I breathed out, "Does that make you the James Barnes, like Bucky Barnes?"

"Yeah. So that means you know what happened to both of us?" Bucky asked.

"Yeah, I've been to that museum more time then I can count. I know all about you guys," I said excitedly.

Bucky got a dark look on his face.

"You guys are both amazing."

Steve looked over at Bucky and smiled slightly.

"So June, anything you want us to know?" Steve asked.

I thought for a while, "Well if this does work out, you should know I have nightmares."

Steve looked at me like I had said something completely normal.

"Like really bad nightmares. Waking up screaming type of nightmares."

"We can deal with that," Steve said.

"Really? Because most people stop the meet and greet after I tell them that."

"You think after what we've been through we wouldn't have nightmares?" Steve asked.

"No. I would understand you having nightmares. It's part of your PTSD."

"So your nightmares are a part of your PTSD."

"Oh," I looked over at Bucky. He was messing with the strings on his hoddie. There were other things I needed to tell them, and it all came out in a flood.

"I also sleep walk, I'm a bit of a picky eater, and I don't get very good grades in school, but I try really hard. I do, I promise," I could feel myself slipping into a panic attack.

"Hey, June you know what? None of those things matter. Those are just the bad things. What about the good things? There has to be some, right?" I looked up at Bucky. I barely knew him and he was already making me feel better.

I breathed slowly and looked down at my lap. What about the good things? I looked up and Steve was gone. I shrugged it off and talked to Bucky.

"Well, I can draw... I can skateboard pretty well, and I play basketball."

"If we adopt you are we gonna have to put you in basketball?" Bucky said with a smirk.

"Well of course you are!" I exclaimed with a laugh.

When I was done laughing Steve was coming back with the adoption lady. He came and put his hands on Bucky's shoulders. The adoption lady stood next to Steve with a clipboard. She usually didn't have a clipboard, just the IPad she carries around.

"Ar-are you guys adopting me?" I stuttered out.

"We can't just leave you here! Come on let's get you out here while Steve fills out the papers," Bucky said while getting up.

"Mr. Barnes you have to be here when the papers a signed," the adoption lady said.

"I will be there. I just have to get her packed up, ok?"

"Fine, but you have to be here."

"I got it, I got it," Bucky said pulling me along, "Let's get you ready to go home."
