I said goodbye to Lilian one last time, and walked out the door with Bucky in front of me.

When we got to the meet n' great area Steve was waiting for us, "Right on time," he said with a smile.

He took Bucky's right hand and lead us into the adoption lady's office. We all got seated, me in the middle and Steve and Bucky on both my sides.

"Steve has filled out all the information on you two," she motioned to Steve and Bucky with a pen, "but now we need to fill out the information on June and if you are changing her name."

"Am I filling out the papers?" I asked.

"Do they know anything about you?" The adoption lady asked raising an eyebrow.

"No."

"Well then it's all up to you," she slid the papers and a pen towards me.

The papers asked for a lot of things, what I looked like, where my parents were, and date of birth, etc. It took about 20 minutes to fill out all the papers.

When I signed my name at the end of the last paper I slid it back to the adoption lady.

"So, would you like to change her name?" She looked to Steve and Bucky, who looked at each other, who looked at me.

"We're just changing her last name," Steve said while still looking at me.

"To Rogers or Barnes?"

"Rogers-Barnes."

Authors Note

I know this is nothing like a real adoption, but it's how I've always imagined an adoption happening.

I know you have to go to court and foster (I'll get to the fostering later in the story).

But ya I don't know the real process of how any of that works so I wasn't going to write it and mess it all up.

Anyway just wanted to say that, bye!
