Clint lead me to a lab on the 10th floor. If your wondering what happened to Max, so are we. We lost him when we were getting on the elevator, but thought what the heck. He's 19 he can take care of himself.
Max
They left me at the elevator. I'm 19! I can not take care of my self! I'm gonna die all alone in a stupid tower!
June
We may not have thought that through very well, but we found a scientist who can help us with the web situation. His name is Bruce Banner a.k.a the Hulk.
"If I could get a sample of the the webbing I could run some tests and determine if and when it would dissolve."
"Did you just say if, Banner? Because that's my nephew and I gotta have him back to his mom all in one piece in an hour or-"
"Clint it'll be fine. If it won't dissolve I'll try to cut though the web with a harder metal." (Science people please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this sciencey stuff because idk what I'm even talking about.)
"Oh, yeah that's reassuring," Clint rolled his eyes.
"Just go get me a sample of the webbing."
************
"Oh there you are Max. We were wondering where you went."
We found Max outside of the 12th floor elevator sitting on the ground with the webbing still around him.
"Oh thank god you found me. I thought I was gonna die all alone in this stupid tower!" He tried to throw his hands up in the air, but alas they were stuck to his sides.
"We were gone for ten minutes Max."
"Oh."
"We found a guy that can fix," Clint waved his hand around at Max, "that."
"Cool. Where is he?"
"Tenth floor. You'll have to make it there on your own because I am not carrying you," Max stuck out his bottom lip.
Clint rolled his eyes, "How old are you? Three?"
"No. I'm five," Max and me giggled.
"I don't get it," Clint looked between us.
~Flashback~
At the foster home it was a joke that Max was five. So whenever some one asked how old he was he would say five. Most people would roll their eyes and say 'Seriously kid? What's your real age?' Then the joke would be over and we would laugh after.
But if people made a snarky comment back we made a special place in our hearts for them because there aren't that many people in the world that will do that.
~Flashback done~
"It's a joke," Max and me said at the same time.
"Jinx!" We called out.
Apparently Max forgot the rest of the sacred jinx sentence because he didn't say, "Jinx padlock you owe me a soda!"
"Oh come on! Really? I owe you like ten sodas by now!" Max pleaded with me.
"It's actually twelve," I said grinning. Max pouted.
"I have no idea what's going on between you two, but the web stuff is starting to dissolve," Clint motioned to the webbing that was laying on the floor.
"Or I've developed super strength and have broken through the webs," Max lowered his voice a couple of octaves.
"No because if you did you would have broken through it earlier."
"Aw, Uncle Clint. Your no fun," Max stuck his bottom lip out.
"Parker if you're in the building come to my office," came over the intercom.
Isn't Peter supposed to be in school?
"Hey! Look! The webbing is all the way dissolved!" Max stood up and the ceiling tile fell from his back.
Forgot that was still there.
"I'll take a sample to Bruce. You," Clint pointed to me, "keep him out of trouble."
Clint walked away mumbling.
Geez I have to babysit a 19 year old.
This is great! I get to tell him what to do!
Max
Uhg. Why does June have to babysit me? It's not like I can get into that much trouble.
Author: did you see what you just did? You were stuck to the ceiling. I think you need a babysitter.
I do not! Besides I can just call it hanging out with June. Then it won't be so bad.
Author: sure. Keep telling yourself that.
