"What was the deal with Peter?" Bucky asks.

"What?" I ask, knowing exactly what he's asking about.

"You two had a heart to heart in the middle of the living room a little bit ago."

"I wouldn't say it was a heart to heart-" I said my voice cracking multiple times .

"Then what would you call it?" Bucky gave me a smug look.

I had no idea what to call it, "I guess we just had a nice little... conversation."

"Yeah, sure," Bucky sat down on the couch, ready to watch another movie with Steve. I was left standing in the middle of the dining room.

Steve moved from the kitchen into Bucky's arms on the couch. Steve had a bowl of popcorn that he brought from the kitchen and was sharing with Bucky.

I moved to a chair in the living room because I felt a little awkward standing in the middle of the dining room by myself.

Steve and Bucky chose The Sandlot. I curled up in the chair and fell asleep half way through the movie.

************

I woke up in my room. I started to freak out until I realised that either Bucky or Steve brought me in here. I sat up. My suitcase had been moved from my bed to the corner of my room, my curtains had been drawn to keep the light out, and there was a note on my night stand.

Had to leave on a mission, sorry. This is Tony's number (Tony's number) if you need anything call him or go to his place. There's directions to his place on the fridge. I'm sorry we had to leave so early in the morning.
Steve and Bucky

No, no, no, no. This can't be happening. They can't just leave me alone. Can they? No they can't. Not when they just adopted me.

I ran to my closet to throw some clothes on. I didn't care about my clothes at this point, I just needed to know what was happening.

After I was dressed I went to the kitchen and found instructions on how to get to Stark Tower. I took a picture of it since I couldn't carry it around and left.

                       **************

"I need to see Mr. Stark. Please," I told the receptionist lady that was working the front desk.

"Do you have an appointment?" She asked with a bored tone like she got this all the time.

"No, but-"

"Set up an appointment and maybe we'll talk later," she interrupted.

"No! You don't understand! I'm supposed to come here to- can you just tell him I'm here. My name is June Jones by the way," I told her hoping she would tell him I was here.

"Sure sweetheart, but I don't think he's gonna see you. So don't get your hopes up," she picked up the phone and punched in a couple of numbers, "Hello, Mr. Stark. I have a girl in the lobby, June Jones-" she paused, "Yep. Sure. No problem," she put the phone down, "Go in that elevator," she pointed at the elevator to my right.

I headed to the elevator quickly, ready to get some answers.
