~But hoping never is good enough.~
June ran into Tony's office expecting her parents.
A call, facetime, anything just to know they were alive.
All she found was Tony and a note. Like the one Steve and Bucky gave her.
"Wh-where are Steve and Bucky?" She sounded heartbroken.
Her dreams of anything with them left her right then without knowing anything.
"Kid," Tony looked up from the note with a pained expression.
No.
They can't be.
She just found them.
Found the right ones.
"Kid I-I, their in the infirmary. The mission didn't go... as planned. They got hurt really bad," he talked to her slowly, like she was a child.
But she wasn't a child. She should know what happened.
"You can go see them, but I don't know if they'll be awake."
She could feel tears falling down her cheeks, but she didn't care.
Everything was falling apart again just like it did last time.
Tony didn't know what to do. He just sat their trying to find the right words as he watched the tears fall.
The tears fell quicker and her sobs got louder.
Tony got out of his chair quietly walking over to the crying girl. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder trying not to scare her.
"You don't have to go see them now. If you don't want to...We can go see them if you want to, of course," June was still sobbing. Tony wasn't sure if she heard a word of what he said.
"Hey did you know that your parents heal extremely fast due to their healing factor?" She shook her head wiping away some tears, "Well they do. So that means they'll get out of the hospital faster to see you."
Tony poked her in the stomach. A thing a three year old would giggle about, but here, 16 year old June Jones was giggling at a poke in the stomach.
Tony laughed alongside her, seeing how he could make a 16 year old laugh with a simple poke to the stomach.
When June quieted down she wiped away her tears.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Making me laugh, my room, letting me stay here, putting up with my not-knocking," June smiled slightly.
"You're welcome," Tony pulled June into a hug, surprising them both.
************
"Hey Dad. I don't know if you can hear me while you're asleep, but I just wanted to say you had me really, really worried. I thought you had died. So don't ever do that to me again," June took a shakey breath, "I just wanted to say I love you even if I haven't known you for very long. You guys gave me a chance when no one else would. And when you do wake up don't listen to Tony because if you didn't see me get in trouble it never happened. Ok? Ok."
June took a pause, looking over to Bucky.
"I have my own room here so if I ever need to come here I can. Tony said he would buy me clothes and stuff, so I'll ask- when you're awake when I can go shopping."
June stopped talking. She had gotten out every detail she wanted to share with them since they had been gone.
But she was missing one major detail, Max.
She thought it would be best to tell them about him when they were awake, so she knew they were listening.
For now she was content with listening to the tick of the clock and the breathing of her new dads.
************
June.
June.
June!
Her whole body was practically shoved out of the chair she was in.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to shove you that hard!" Someone whisper-yelled, but June wasn't coherent enough to see who it was.
Peter on the other hand was a dark shade of red because he just about pushed his crush out of a chair trying to wake her up, and in response to practically being thrown off her chair she latched on to Peter's arms.
"It's ok. Where am I?" June's voice squeaked a little.
"I-in the infirmary. You fell asleep... in this chair," Peter's face turned a darker shade of red (if that's even possible).
"Oh. Are Steve and Bucky all right? Did they make it through the-"
"June they're fine," Peter's blush lightened to a rosy pink. His voice becoming softer, "Their awake. If you want to see them."
"Yeah," June looked down at her arms and noticed they were latched onto Peter's. She slowly retracted them towards herself, "Yeah, I-I'll go see them."
So I've realized that Clint probably doesn't have a sister, so if anybody can look into that for me that would be great.
Bye!
