June walked into the large room and instantly saw Bucky didn't have his metal arm, which he had last night.

June looked over at Steve expecting something worse, but found he looked fine except for a few cuts that had been bandaged up.

"Hey June," Steve's voice was hoarse like he had been yelling.

Steve and Bucky both knew he had been yelling.

Yelling because he had to see Bucky being ambushed. Yelling because he had to see Bucky lose his arm again. Yelling because there were to many of them, but they wouldn't let June know about it.

Wouldn't let her worry.

June looked down at her shoes as tears pooled in her eyes. She didn't want them to see her cry.

"It's all right. See," June looked up at her dad. He had a smile on his face, "We're all right. Just a few bumps and scratches."

But it wasn't just a few bumps and scratches.

Steve had just bumps and scratches on the outside, but on the inside he was hiding broken bones. Steve broke three ribs and one of them almost pierced his lung. It wasn't just bumps and scratches.

Bucky had bumps and scratches, but he was hiding something too. A slash across his back, covered up by his shirt. It wasn't just bumps and scratches.

June sniffled, "Are you sure?"

She looked between her dads not entirely convinced with Steve's response.

Steve's expression faltered for a moment. He looked guilty of something, but it changed back to his warm smile so quickly June thought she had imagined it.

"Yes, now come give me a hug. You've barely looked at me!" Bucky held out his arm to June. June snuggled up into his side tuning out the rest of the world.

Bucky knew Steve would hug June and tell her everything was all right all day, but he had broken ribs. If June moved one of them wrong it could do more harm then good.

June didn't know anything was wrong with Steve though. They both knew she needed to know soon enough, but they didn't want to worry her. She had worried enough already.

                         ************

"Mr. Winter Soldier sir?"

"What Spidey?" Bucky shifted under June, causing her to stir slightly.

"She-" the rest was to quiet for June to hear in her half asleep state.

"Yeah 'cuz that's a smart decision. Keeping your secret iden-" June's head rose up from Bucky's arm causing him to stop his sentence, "Hey sleepy head."

"Hey Dad," June's voice was croaky from sleeping. She looked to her left to see if Steve was awake and surprisingly saw Peter sitting next to the bed.

Peter looked up from his phone and gave June a faint smile.

He was texting Aunt May to see if it was alright if he spent the night at the tower. He knew she would say yes, it was the weekend after all.

Aunt May
You can stay. Have Happy drop you off when you decide to come home. Don't stay the whole weekend either!

Peter
I won't! Love you aunt may!

Aunt May
Love you Peter.

Peter shut his phone off and shoved it in his pocket.

"Steve is in another room right now," Bucky looked at Peter for help, but to be honest he had no idea what was going on.

"Then I'll go see him in the other room," June had a look of determination.

"June," Bucky sighed and ran his hand through his hair, "He didn't want me telling you this, but he got hurt on the mission," Bucky checked to make sure June hadn't freaked out about the news she had just received.

"More then just bumps and scratches. He uh, broke some ribs," Bucky looked up at June. She was staring blanking at the wall behind Peter's head.

June didn't know how to process this information. Yes she had heard it, but to her it didn't make scene. Her dad couldn't get hurt that bad. He was Captain America!

Maybe he didn't break any bones. What if he just pulled a couple of muscles and it hurts like a broken bone. Ye-yeah.

June couldn't believe herself. She knew it wouldn't hurt that bad. He wouldn't be in a separate room if it was just pulled muscles, but why couldn't she make herself see that.

"How many ribs did he break?" Her voice was flat. Void of all emotion.

She was feeling so many thing right now, but they just wouldn't express themselves.

"Three," Bucky looked at her with concern. He's never seen her like this. Well he'd only known her for a couple of days, but she had been so happy. So full of life. Now she just looked like a shell of something that was once there.

"Oh. That's a lot. It must hurt. Is that why he's in the separate room? Because it hurts?" June looked at Bucky, the bright green color of her eyes now darkened.

"Yes, but he'll get better really quick because of his healing factor. Did you know that he once broke his wrist and it only took three days to heal?" That got June's attention.

"No. So it won't take very long for his ribs to heal?" She asked her eyes bright again.

"Well I don't know how long it'll take with three bones- 'cuz he only broke one of the bones in his wrist, but he'll be out quicker then the normal human."

Bucky looked over at Peter and mouthed 'Do you know when they're letting him out?'

'Friday.'

'Ok. You wanna tell June?' Bucky looked down at June. She was preoccupied with the strings of the blanket.

'Sure. Want me to get her out of here?'

"What are you guys talking about?" June looked between Bucky and Peter.

"Uh, just if you can have a sleepover with me."

Bucky gave him a puzzled look.

'It was the best excuse I had.'

"Yeah, do you wanna go?" Bucky asked since he is the parent.

"What about Ste-"

"He'll be fine. I promise. Go have fun."

"Ok..." June looked at the spot Steve had been earlier already regretting saying yes.

So you might be able to tell I have no clue about medical stuff, so if I got any of that wrong please tell me. It helps me write it better next time!

Also if you haven't figured it out this chapter was third person pov. I think I'll be writing the rest of the chapters this way unless I specify it's a certain characters pov.

And if you don't know my update schedule is weekdays and then I work on mondays chapter over the weekend so its longer.

Sorry for the longer-ish a/n just wanted to make some stuff clear.

Bye!
