**Ch 65 Remember What I Give I Can Also Be Taken Away**

**Charlie’s POV**

            I did it again, but I couldn’t help it. I mean looking at it now I can see what she meant that I just saw what I wanted to see but I was just so heartbroken at what I saw that I let it cloud my judgment. It is not that I didn’t what them to be together it just I don’t want to lose her too like I lost her mother. I loved Renee and I thought that we would have forever but a few years after she left I came to realize that it just wasn’t meant to be and I have accepted that. It didn’t mean I didn’t love her and less than before but it was more of a dear friend love now. Even after everything I know that if I don’t fix this then I am going to end up pushing Bella away too. It is times like this that I hate agreeing to make her an emancipated minor.

**Flashback**

            I was standing in my den arguing with Renée. “Charles Bella is a responsible adult she has obligation uphold.” She said. “What are you talking about woman?! Bella is a child not even 14 yet she can't be travel the world to do god know what. She could get hurt. No I refuse to let my baby girl go.” I told her. “Charles we both know that Bella can take care of herself. Even if she couldn’t she will be heavily guarded. She is only touring the country. I thought you would be happy this is a great opportunity for her. She can continue her schooling on the road and if something was to happen I'm sure that she will let us know. Everything will be fine we can't protect her forever Charles we have to let go sometime.” She said but really solidify my resolve was Bella. “Daddy please can I go. I would be on my best behavior I promise. How many people my age can say that the opened for P!nk. I am only going to be gone until New Years and then after that I will be back I promise. You can even come to New York and fly back with me if you want. If you come early we can go sightseeing. I know you would like to see where the Knicks play please daddy.” She begged.

            That did sound very tempting and I went to tell her I agreed when she cut me off. “Daddy please can I go. I never get to do anything I want to with all the stuff that happens to me. I promise I will be a good girl. How could you not let me go when you’re the one that entered me in the contest dad? I like singing and dancing and it could be something I'm good at and you won't let me. I mean all the time we practice to…” I cut her off by placing my hand over her mouth. “Bella honey you can go. I would love to meet you in New York and see you perform on New Year’s, but I have some conditions. You are to call me when you get to every spot and before you leave again. If anything happens you are to call me immediately no exceptions. Two more things. I want you to keep wearing a mask, because after all is said and done privacy is what will keep you safe in the future. The last thing is have fun Bella I am so proud of you honey.” I told her before kissing her forehead and pulling her into a hug. I signed the papers and dropped them off at the office.

**End of Flashback**

            Now all I can do is sit here in my office and reminisce on all the good times we had. I didn’t know what to do so I drove down to La Push after work to talk to Billy. What I wasn’t expecting was his demeanor towards me. “What do you want Diamond?” he snipped at me. “I wanted to see how you were doing, what is wrong with you?” I asked. “My problem is you and your “family” and since Isabella isn’t here you aren’t welcomed.” He stated. I looked at him in astonishment. “You can't be serious we have been best friends forever. And if my “family” isn’t allowed than why is Leah here since she is a part of my “family” as you put it.” I growled. “She is my family not yours Diamond!” he snapped. I didn’t even reply and just turned and left.
