Lol just kidding. This isn't an actual chapter. I'm just calling it "chapter 40" because I really wanted to round out the chapters to an even number but had no more material to make another actual chapter. So, this dedication is being called a chapter.
I want to thank you guys, my readers and supporters. I would not still be on Wattpad without you guys' support. You guys have no idea how much it means to me to get a notification that someone read a chapter and voted. You guys are A1.
I literally got a little sad when I finished this because I never expected this story to get this long and I am so proud of myself for that.
With that being said, here are a few facts about One Foot In & One Foot Out!
1. It took me over a year to write this book from start to finish. And another year and half to finally go back and re-edit the book in its entirety because I was simultaneously working on my now completed story F***in' Arizona.
2. I finished writing it at 4:44am. Lol ya'll, I'm dead tired.
3. I got the idea to write a story about a grim reaper from a game I played.
4. The story got started while I and a friend of mine were on a Megabus ride to the state of Alabama.
5. This story was originally only supposed to be about 10 chapters. LOL
6. On Microsoft Word, where I actually wrote the story, it is over 479 pages and 147,017 words (this includes this dedication and all the music playlists). The most I've ever written of anything.
7. In the original story, Davin was not pansexual. Speaking of Davin, someday in the future, he and Damien will get their own prequel story, however that is not in the near future. Got too many other projects to start before.
8. This is the first long story I've ever finished. (Of course, now that F***in' Arizona is finished, I've got two under my belt now!)
9. The title was made because Jael was both half alive (One Foot In [the door]), and half dead (One Foot Out [the door]). I thought it would be a cool idea to make a story about a black girl who was this way because there just aren't enough supernatural or fantasy stories about black characters, let along female black characters. Not only that, I think the idea of a story about a grim reaper is really cool, so, there ya go. I wanted a fantasy story about a black grim reaper, so I wrote one myself.
10. The story was originally supposed to only have one playlist for the entire thing, but I kept hearing or already had songs that would fit different chapters, that I just did songs for each chapter except one. The playlists took a lot of dedication, but I love music.
Well, there you have it! Thank you again for coming on this crazy ride with me guys.
Don't forget that my other story F***in' Arizona! It is out (pun intended) and completed if you want to give it a look! I highly recommend that you do, however I will say that it is a MATURE rated story and deals with mental health issues, has language, and sexual content.
This is the original description for the story because I was too lazy to go and copy and paste the current synopsis lol:
"Nova, hope is a bitch."
"I thought that was karma?"
"Nah, it's hope, karma's older sister."
Nova Queen and Arizona 'Ari' Matthews weren't always friends in high school, but after an intense and serious conversation in the library one day, the two became the best of friends until they went their separate ways in their freshman year of college.
Now in their mid-20s and freshly out of grad school, they are reunited in the park of their hometown where Ari gives Nova a proposition she wishes she has refused. But in the end, will she really wish she had refused?
