the show was to start in half an hour and veronica was nowhere in sight. usually she is here an hour before the show. tyler and josh were so confused. "maybe she decided to stay home because she's sick." josh suggested.

tyler shook his head, "she would have called or texted, you know that."

kelly rubbed his back, "stop worrying dear, she's a grown woman. she'll be okay."

tyler nodded, "i just worry about her all the time."

chris patted him on the back, "that's what love does to you, son." tyler smiled at the thought.

"ooooh," josh chimed in. "tyler's in love with our assistaaaant." he teased. "i called that years ago!"

tyler punched his shoulder and laughed, "you're just mad that i scored her and you didn't!"

"you talking about me, joseph?" veronica entered the room, crossing her arms and smirked at him. she leaned on the door frame.

"ronnie!" he cheered and ran to her, picking her up and spinning her in a circle. he kissed her on the cheek after setting her down.

"hi," she poked his nose and left his grasp. she walked up to josh and ruffled his hair, "sup dude." and then she walked to kelly and chris, giving them both hugs. "i'm so sorry for rushing out of the barbeque, i bet i missed out on some wicked good food." she joked.

tyler smiled at her sudden confidence with his family.

"don't worry ronnie," chris said proudly using her nickname, "we saved you some! come by anytime!" he nudged her with his elbow and chuckled.

she smiled wide, "i will, thank you!" she looked down at her watch, "alright boys, time to go to side stage! let's go!" she walked out of the room with the boys close on her heal. tyler smiled the whole way.

"good luck dude, break those drums. got it?" veronica said, punching josh's shoulder.

"you got it, boss." josh joked and ran to the stage, pumped up and ready for the show.

"good luck, even though you don't need it." she turned to tyler with a sweet smile.

he melted at the smile, "you're my good luck charm, so yeah, i don't need it as long as you're right there." tyler said, wrapping his arms around her small figure and pressing his lips to hers.

"get out there!" veronica pulled away and pushed him onto the stage.

"good luck honey!" kelly called and joined veronica on side stage tp watch.

"i'm going to get a pretzel," chris announced and walked away. the two girls laughed.

"everything okay now, hun?" kelly asked veronica, who was watching the boys perform their opening song.

"yes, i took two tests. both said negative. i plan on going to the doctor when i get back to boston next week-"

"nonsense, i'll hook you up with my geinocologist! she'll have you in by tomorrow. i'll text her now!" kelly interrupted, being helpful.

"okay," veronica paused, "great thanks." she sucked on the inside of her cheek.

the truth is that she didn't want to see the doctor tomorrow, or until next week, or ever. she was happy right now with her two negative tests, she didn't want her world to come crashing down here in columbus if she was told that she was pregnant. she wanted to enjoy her last week here with tyler. but once kelly's mind is made up about something, there's no changing it and even veronica knew that.
