"today is the day!" tyler exclaimed as he walked out of veronica's bathroom. she was in the room, getting dressed for the day.
she smiled, "indeed it is!"
"you take your medicine today, baby?" tyler asked, holding the two bottles of pills that veronica has to take every morning for two weeks.
"not yet," she said and grabbed a water from the mini fridge then reached for the four tiny white pills that tyler had outstretched for her. she downed them all at once. "thank you, dr. joseph."
"ooh," he said and set the pills down. "let's pinpoint that one and have some fun with it when you're healed." he smirked, referring to having some doctor/patient foreplay.
"consider it pinpointed." veronica smiled and bit her lip in his direction.
"what time are we meeting the realtor?" he asked, trying to keep his mind off of dirty thoughts with veronica. he can't do anything with her right now so he is trying really hard not to even think about it. it's easier said than done, he thought to himself. i mean, look at my girlfriend.
"like twenty minutes at the first house," she paused to put on her second shoe. "so let's head out."
"after you, m'lady!" tyler joked as he held open the door for her. she giggled and walked out.
~
they pulled into the first house and tyler put the car in park. "this is really nice," he admired.
veronica nodded proudly, "i thought so too. and only a ten minute drive to your parents house." she got out of the car, tyler quickly behind her. they approached a blonde woman in her 30's who turned around with a perfect smile.
"nice to meet you two, my name is lorie. i'll be showing you around today!" she shook both of their hands without dropping the perfect smile.
tyler and veronica walked around the first house, listening to lorie give details. tyler couldn't help but watch how veronica reacted to each feature that lorie brought up to see if she was into it or not. he knows that this is going to be his house, but he wants her to like it. he hopes that one day the house he decides on with eventually be their house.
they moved onto the second house, which was more of a let down to veronica. it was nicer in the photos online. she sighed and tyler wrapped his arms around her. lorie walked out of the small kitchen to give them a moment alone.
"what's the matter, sweetheart?" he asked her, pecking her neck.
"it looked better online. i just want you to have the best place possible," she pouted.
he chuckled at her cuteness, "i liked the first one, didn't you?"
"i did," she paused, "but the kitchen was kind of small, sort of like this one. the third house has a bigger kitchen! i promise!"
tyler smiled, "it's okay though because i won't be cooking much in it. it doesn't need to be big baby."
she sucked her bottom lip wondering if she should say her next statement, "yeah, but i'll be cooking in it someday."
tyler eye's widened and he smiled so wide, crashing his lips with hers. "then we better find you your dream kitchen." veronica blushed as he grabbed her hand to pull her back to where lorie is. "we're ready for the next house."
"but sir, we didn't even go ups-"
"the kitchen is too small in this one." he interrupted, smiling at veronica. she blushed even harder and bit her lip to hold back her giant grin.
"yes sir, let's go to the next house then."
the next house was a bit bigger than the other two. and veronica was right, the kitchen was bigger. it had an island and a lot of room for cooking. it was three floors. the bottom floor was a finished basement that tyler would like to turn into his own studio as quickly as possible. there were four bedrooms; so plenty of room for a future family.
tyler watched veronica's eyes glow with excitement and admiration of the house. he didn't even have to think twice about it, "i'll take this one."
veronica looked at him with crazy eyes, "ty-"
"lorie, i'll sign the papers now." he commanded and lorie rushed over with the proper papers. she wasn't going to question the man. with a few dozen signatures and initials, he finished.
"so you'll need to put a down payment on it within the next month to ensure that nobody buys it from under you, mr. joseph."
tyler wrapped his arms around a smiling veronica, "if i pay in full this week, can i have the key now?"
lorie looked like she was about to pass out from this statement. i guess it's not often that someone offers to pay in full for a million dollar house. especially in columbus. "y-yes! you can, sir!" she handed him one more paper to sign, basically holding him to the fact that he will pay in full by the end of the week or else he will get sued. with that, she handed over the key and walked out with a giant smile.
veronica laughed and jumped up, "tyler, you're crazy!"
he chuckled, "crazy for you."
she shook her head in disbelief, "i can't believe you just did that!"
he smiled and held up the keys, "this place is ours now."
"ty-"
he interrupted, "i know you're going home to boston. but one day, i hope you can help keep me company here. and we can start a family here, too."
veronica ran and wrapped her legs around tyler, hugging him. he held her close to his body, never planning on letting go. "yes!"
"ronnie," he said as he put a piece of her hair behind her ear. she looked at him. "i love you with everything in me."
she gasped and searched his eyes for any sign that he was joking or lying. she found no signs, "i love you too, tyler."
their lips crashed together and he spun her around, her legs still wrapped around him. he pumped his fist in the air in victory.
life couldn't get better.
