eighteen.

veronica was woken up by tyler. he was frantically moving around on the bed and gasping for air, but he was still asleep. he was having a nightmare. "tyler," veronica said and shook him. he only gasped more and even reached for his neck while he was sleeping. it was like he was being choked and suffocated. she panicked and climbed on top of him, one knee on either side of him. she grabbed his face with her hands. "tyler! wake up!" she shook his shoulders and bounced on him a little bit. 

with a fit of coughs and another loud gasp for air, tyler woke up. his eyes were bloodshot and he looked at veronica with such a fear in his eyes that all she could do was fling her arms around him and hug him as tight as possible. 

"i'm here tyler, you're not alone." she whispered into the crook of his neck. he let a few tears roll down his cheeks before snaking his arms around her waist and hugging back with equal force. 

"thank you." he whispered. the tears had stopped and he was feeling better already because of veronica's affection. 

"are you okay?" she said, pulling out of the hug and remaining in her position on top of him. 

he nodded, "bad dream. it happens a lot." 

"were you being choked?" 

"yeah, that always happens in my bad dreams." he admitted, feeling like a weirdo. 

"you should write about it." she said, stroking his cheek gently. 

he ignored the comment at first until an idea sprang to his head. "oh my god ronnie," he said and started to get up. veronica fell off of his body and onto the bed. she watched as he threw on his shoes and grabbed his phone. "i'll text you." he said. 

and with a kiss to her cheek and five steps, he was out the door. 

she chuckled and laid back in bed. "that's my boy." she whispered to herself.

a few hours later and tyler had finished a verse of a brand new song. he missed veronica already so he got out her phone to text her. 

hey baby, sorry i rushed out. 

it's okay, did you write about it? 

yeah i think i have a whole verse written 

thats great! 

hey, so tomorrow... would you want to assist me with house hunting? i need a place of my own here. 

are you asking your assistant or your girlfriend? 

both. 

yes and yes. i'll research some places for you now and i'll send you options yeah? 

perfect, thank you. assistant ;)

tyler chuckled and locked his phone. he went downstairs and decided to spend some time watching basketball with his dad and jay. basketball means a lot to this family.

veronica was enjoying herself as she had at least three solid and really great options for tyler to look at tomorrow. she lowkey wished she could live in whatever house he gets with him. don't get it wrong, she looks forward to going back to boston. but right now everything is so perfect. she knows that once she gets to boston, it won't be. she'll have to do long distance with tyler. her and claire haven't texted since their stupid argument so it'll be awkward moving back in with her. it's just going to be a change and right now, veronica is not up for a change. 

her phone went off next to her and she smiled, thinking it was tyler already sending her and 'i miss you i'm coming over' text. but it wasn't him. 

hey ronnie, this is jordan. sorry i'm just now texting you lol

its okay, you forgot about me. WHATEVER 

never! i just never text tbh lol 

it's all good mr dun

veronica chuckled at the nervous boy who was trying to hit on her. she opened tyler's contact and texted him quickly, joking around.
