I went to my room once it was closer to the time for the bonfire to get ready. It was only 7 pm but being in the pack, we were expected to help with everything as in terms of helping set everything up.

"Mi-Na," I heard Sam call from the kitchen as I finished getting dressed, I walked out and appeared in the kitchen.

"Yeah?"

"Can you load my grill up into the truck for me? I'm helping Emily prepare the hamburgers," He said, I nodded and walked out. I quickly loaded everything up which, might I add, was a little more difficult if Jake didn't come in time to help me.

"Thanks," I said, he nodded and we walked in. I heard multiple tears of shrink wrap and tin foil. I lifted an eyebrow in question as I watched them cover everything.

"You guys are shrink wrap and tin foil happy," I commented, I felt a tin foil ball hit me after Sam throwing it at me. I walked into the kitchen further and found a bouquet of flowers on the table with a small card. I pulled the card out of the envelope and looked at it.

Mi-Na,
I hope this is a start towards your trust for me.
Love, Jared

I smiled, I took the bouquet up to my room before finding something suitable to be a vase. I eventually found a mason jar that was hold my pencils and went to wash it out before filling it up with water. I set the bouquet in it and set it on the table by my window.

"Who got you flowers," I jumped and turned around.

"Jacob! You shouldn't be scaring me like that," I scolded my cousin, "Jared got them for me."

"Well that's nice of him," He said walking over to me, "I just hope he doesn't hurt you again."

I smiled softly at my cousin.

"If he does, I will allow you to kick his ass."

He nodded, "Come on, we gotta get going."

I followed him down stairs and into the kitchen where Emily was just finishing up the last dish of food. Jake and I helped carry everything out while we heard a couple of the other guys come help. Once everything was finished, we all started to head down to the beach where the elders were sitting at. I found my seat and I soon felt someone sit next to me. I looked over and found Jared. I smiled at him.

"Hey," I said, he smiled.

"Hey, you look beautiful by the way."

I blushed slightly. I heard a loud yell from the top of the cliff and I'm not surprised to find Jake up there yelling at the top of his lungs. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

I guess that's my cousin.

"You okay, beautiful," Jared asked.

"Yup! Just discovering my cousin in a dumbass."

He laughed, it caught the attention of Jake. The boy leaped off the cliff and into the waters below before walking over to us once he got out.

"What are you two laughing about," Embry asked joining Jake, who sat down on the sand.

"Nothing," I lied.

"You are a horrible liar, Mi," Jake said.

"I mean if you want me to tell you, I will. It'll just be an insult," I shrugged.

"Bring it," He said.

"I said I was discovering that you are a dumbass," I replied with a cheesy grin.

"Fuck you, Lewis," Jake said throwing loose sand at me. I laughed.

"Hey, Mi-Na," I heard, I looked behind me and smiled.

"Hey, Riley," I said, "Come sit. I would like you to meet some people. This is my cousin, Jacob, his best friend Embry and my boyfriend Jared."

"Nice to meet you all," She said before freezing on Jacob. I smiled a bit.

We heard a whistle that caught all our attention.

"Looks like they are starting the legends here in a minute," Jared said before shooing off my cousin, his imprint and his friend, "Will you go on a date with me?"

I smiled, nodding, "What should I wear?"

"Just dress comfortably," He said, "I will have the rest taken care of. Just be ready by 4 o'clock tomorrow evening."

I nodded once again and put all our focus on the elders.

"According to Quileute legend, the spirit warriors were the first to shift from humans into wolves. Quileute population was always small, but they never disappeared since it was believed they had magic in their bloodlines," Billy started. The air was quiet as everyone listened carefully.

"The Quileute tribe settled in La Push and became efficient fishermen and shipbuilders. As time passed, other peoples coveted their land and moved against them for it. The tribe was small and could not defend themselves, so they took their ships and left the land. At sea, Kaheleha used the magic in their blood to defend it. He was the first Spirit Chief in Quileute history," Old Quil continued, "He and all the men left the ships in spirit only, using the original power of Quileute Astral Projection, leaving their bodies behind under the care of the women. Though they could not physically hurt the enemy, the warriors had other ways. They blew fierce winds into enemy camps; they could make great screaming in the wind and could manipulate animals to do their bidding. Animals were the only ones that could see them and help. The invading tribe had packs of thick-furred dogs to pull their sleds in the north, and which were set against them. Bats were brought out of the cliff caverns. As a result, the dogs and bats won and the survivors of the invaders scattered thinking the harbor cursed. The Quileutes released the dogs, who ran wild, and returned to their bodies victorious."

"The Hohs and the Makahs made treaties with the Quileutes because they wanted nothing to do with their magic. Generations passed and the last of the great Spirit Chiefs came to be. Taha Aki was a man of peace and was known for his wisdom. However there was one man named Utlapa who believed that they should use their magic to expand their control over the Hohs and the Makahs, building an empire. When the spirit warriors left their bodies their minds were all connected with each other. Taha Aki did not like what Utlapa wanted and banned him from the tribe. Utlapa left and hid in the nearby forest..."

I continued to listen, I mean I should since it's my heritage after all.

"...Taha Aki's descendants no longer turned to wolves when they reached manhood. Only when a cold one was near would they return. The cold ones always came in one or two so the pack stayed small with 3 wolves until a bigger coven came. The leader of the coven spoke to Ephraim Black as if he were a man and promised not to harm the Quileutes. His strange yellow eyes gave proof of this, and a treaty was offered to the tribe even though there was no need—they outnumbered the wolves and could have won easily if they fought. Ephraim accepted and the coven's numbers forced a larger pack than before. Over the years, the coven left and returned to Forks but always kept true to their word and did not harm the tribe. It was said that Carlisle Cullen was the one who talked to Ephraim and made the promise," Billy finished up the Legends.

I smiled, yawning. This is the second time in a week I heard since we ended up with new pack members, including myself.

"Can you take me home? I'm a little tired."

Jared nodded and we got up.
