Mom had swore that La Push is what the family needed after a tough life in Neah Bay. She wanted us to be closer to her side since we never got to see them, so she decided to move us there despite dad's opinion. He doesn't like mom's side too much after something happening before I was born, but I have no clue as to what that event was.

"Mi-Na, it's time to go," Mom said interrupting my train of thought that had derailed the moment I heard my name.

"Okay, mom, I just need to do a double check on if there is anything else."

She nodded, I took that as my cue to check. I ran up the stairs to my room and opened the door.

We were leaving our furniture since mom thinks we should get new pieces in La Push. Which, don't get me wrong I'm excited but, isn't La Push a small reservation? I didn't think there was a furniture store on the Rez?

"Mi-Na," I heard her call before realizing that I had been up there Longer than necessary. I did a quick look over and nodded, I didn't leave anything behind before going back down stairs.

"What is with you?"

"What do you mean," I asked, I had to play naive so she wouldn't think anything was bothering me.

"You are Spacey today," She said, "You are never like that. What's wrong?"

"Mom," I smiled gently at her, "I promise, I'm fine. It's just a lot to take in."

Okay, that wasn't a total lie. It was a lot to take in but I wasn't fine. I was terrified. Wouldn't you be if you had to move almost an hour and a half away? I mean, it may not seem like a whole lot of distance but it's still to a new area that I know no one.

I looked at her, "I'm just scared. I'm 16 and I'm moving to an area that is new to me."

"I know, sweetie, but I seriously think this will be good for us," She said.

"Momma, what happened before I was born that caused dad to not like your side of the family?"

"Remember those Quileute legends," She asked, I nodded.

"Yeah, that one's about our ancestors being Shape-shifters and phasing into wolves," I said recalling the gist of them.

"Exactly, well those legends are very much true. Four months before you were born, your grandfather had just finished up his usual patrol when your father watched him phase back to his human form. Your father, of course, found this very dangerous and bizarre that he thought the best solution was to move me away from my family. He decided to take me to live with the Makah Tribe until this day."

"Woah! So I could be a wolf," I asked getting all excited. She laughed gently like she always had.

"Sweetie, I don't think females can shift. Well, that's what the records have always claimed. But there is more to why we are moving back then just to be near my family."

I lifted an eyebrow in curiosity, "What's the other reasons?"

"Recently they have discovered rogue vampires and that means more Shape-shifters coming up."

I nodded a bit, "Well I hope females can change the whole phasing thing."

She smiled, I turned to looked out the window as we left the community of Neah Bay and made our way to La Push. I have never been there so it was going to be different for me and needless to say, I was excited but terrified.

"How far is La Push from here," I asked.

"About an hour and fifteen minutes," She said, "I wanted to tell you that you will not have to share a room with Jaci anymore. Your father and I had bought a four bedroom house."

I smiled, "I can't wait! I have so many ideas."

"What kind of ideas do you have?"

"I don't have details but definitely something with fairy lights! Oh, and something wolf related."

"Well when we get settled in, we can go to Port Angeles to find some things for your room," She said, I nodded.

It wasn't a horribly long trip to La Push from Neah Bay so I managed to stay awake. My mind was buzzing with thoughts on everything that changed but kept going back to the fact that we were wolves or have the wolf Gene.

Mom pulled up to the house and I was definitely amazed at how nice it looked. It was a tan siding house that had green stains from the ivy vines growing up it.

"Go check out your room."

I nodded and ran in, I looked around and immediatley found the kitchen. I opened a door then the next door. I finally found the door after noticing the names and smiled. I loved it.

"What do you think," mom asked coming up behind me.

"I love it!"

She smiled, "I'm glad. Why don't we unpack then invite your cousin and grandfather over for dinner? Mind helping me cook?"

"Not at all," I smiled again, "What's their names?"

We walked out of the house just in time as dad pulled up.

"Your grandfather is Old Quil and your cousin is Quil."

"Is the name Quil an on running name?"

"Yup, your cousin is Quil the fifth."

Woah, "Fifth generation? Holy crap!"

She nodded, laughing at my reaction.

To say I was surprised was a bit of an understatement.

Mom and I opened the the truck bed door and started to pull out boxes of our possessions to take in the house while the twins hung around playing on their phones, like always. We sorted everything into rooms. Once everything was sorted, we started to unpack and set everything up.

"Jamie," Mom called me, using one of the few nicknames. I walked out of my bedroom and out to the kitchen as my room is right next to it.

"Yes?"

"Would you like to run to the store with me? I need to get a few things for dinner tonight."

"Sure!"

We left and went to the store.
