Back Again (old version)

"Aishi is here!"
"Oniisan! Oneesan!"

I picked up a little kid as they tried to jump on me. I ruffed her hair and put her down.

"Miss us?" Kate was laughing as she was tackled with hugs, too.

"So is hows everything holding up?" I looked at the older kids I designated to be in charge. They were no more than a year younger than me. "Everyone been doing their chores?"

"Yes!"

"We're all good here." Emilia, the oldest girl, walked over and smiled.

Jack walked up next to her. "Stop being so uptight. This isn't some boarding school." He teased her and poked her cheek, causing her to become very irritated.

Me and Kate laughed. This was a great group of kids. We had a surprise for them all.

"Who wants to go in a field trip?!?"

Everybody stops talking and looks at us. When it finally sank in, they were and jumping like crazy with energy.

"You all change into something clean and washed and meet ya back when you're done."

They all scrambled to get to their rooms and change. We were taking them to the park and then to then to the mall.

We took a walk to get to the park first. We played tag, hide n seek, and literally everything they wanted. We were there till about one after hours of play. Then we started towards the mall.

We gave everyone a 20 dollar bill and told them to buy whatever they wanted and to be back in an hour. Me and Kate sat at a cafe and talked while we waited. We wanted to do an adoption fair soon. The kids might have really liked the Hero's Houses but they weren't supposed to be there forever.

We talked about inviting some heroes to promote the event more. No hero can turn down coming to an orphanage fair without getting backlash when asked. As much as we hated the heroes, it was the best way to promote the event.

We were discussing if we should invite Mount Lady or not when the chaos erupted.

"EVERYBODY RUN. ITS A VILLAIN ATTACK!"
