Can't Say... (A Pentatonix FanFiction)

Chapter 24

It was 9:30 on a really warm Thursday morning, Scott and Esther were meeting up in the studio today. It seems weird that it would be just the two of them but, since Scott was technically the 'leader' of the group and Esther had quite a big involvement in the band, they were discussing the future of Pentatonix and what the future holds for the 5 members.

"So... what are we supposed to do? Avi and Kevin are like the building blocks of this band if they can't work together then how are the trio supposed to get on with what needs to be done?"

Esther was sat across from the tall blonde sipping on hot cocoa while Scott had a Large Caramel Macchiato. There were two iced buns in front of them since neither had breakfast.

"I don't know. Avi isn't comfortable around any of us. He doesn't trust us after what happened an I honestly don't blame him. We've accused him of being unloyal and cheating on Kevin with his good for nothing ex and look where that got us."

There was a deafening silence filling the room. You could hear the cogs turning in their heads as they thought up a way to fix the band. Scott had an idea but was very self-conscious about it. But right now, any idea would be good for the band.

"I have a suggestion but I don't know if you'll like it..."

"If you're suggesting Pentatonix split up then I refuse--"

"No no no! I was suggesting that... we go on a break... y' know? Like, we just stop everything Pentatonix related for a certain amount of time while we try to get ourselves together. We'll come back to it of course but we need to take a break because Avi can't work with the mental state he's in and it has been stressful for all of us. It has been the worst 6 months of our lives and we can't keep doing this after all that's happened."

"True, but what are we going to tell the fans? Hey guys! Pentatonix is taking a break because one of our members was sexually assaulted 6 months ago and was pregnant with the man's child and we accused him of cheating until Mitch found out the truth and told his boyfriend and he was then kidnapped and almost murdered but his baby was killed in the process and was then admitted to hospital."

"No Esther, we won't tell them what happened but we will give them a brief summary of how these past few months have affected the group and the outcome of it. We can't keep being Pentatonix in this state. We need a break."

There was more silence as the two thought about the idea.

"Who should tell the fans?"

"Kirstie maybe? She loves interacting with them and she hates being dishonest with not only herself but the fans too. She would love to bring them up to date with what's happening. They need to be brought up to date anyway."

"Sure... I'll give her a call later when she's awake."

The two stood from their chairs and walked towards the exit. Upon reaching the exit. The two went their separate ways.

"See you soon, Es"

"You too, noodle."

They went to their respective cars and drove off to their own homes. Esther later called Kirstie and told her the decision she and Scott came up with as well as informing the rest of the band and they soon had a date to upload a new video to tell the fans what they are doing with their career and what they're doing with the band.

It wouldn't result in a happy ending for the fandom but it is the best for the band.
