Shawn's Point of View
After my signing with Island and Republic Records, one album was released and the second was on its way. Handwritten was all inspired by Corie and I's relationship, especially since I wrote some of the songs when I was in high school— Life of the Party, Kid In Love and Something Big. My next album Illuminate was coming soon, so far three songs were recorded and completed.
The tour wasn't as I expected. Since it was a solo tour and my friends weren't with me this time, the bus felt empty. I would board onto it after a concert, fall asleep, then wake up to the next stop.
I stopped drinking after our talk because I was either making songs, performing, or sleeping, there wasn't much time to relax. Performing at big cities and venues gave me a chance to meet new people and celebrities, an amazing opportunity I didn't think I would have.
My family was proud of me, Mom and Dad were able change their schedules to take more time off because I was helping pay the bills. Corie's mom was basically part of our family now and Aaliyah was growing up and going into high school– I wish I was there with them.
Anika gave birth to her daughter, who she named Aerity and is still finishing her education for nursing. My label allowed me to have 2 weeks vacations in between the stops, I would use that time to visit them in San Jose and help take care of some responsibilities. She was able to reconnect with her parents— they absolutely adore her little kid. I did too, the moment I saw her I hoped she lived a better future. A future that wasn't like her mom's–no offense.
But seeing everyone's life pull through and settling into a schedule made me happy, I wasn't going to do that for awhile, yet it was comforting to know that I wouldn't have to worry about how they were doing.
I wasn't looking for relationships or anything long term, it never occurred to me until I had to write love songs. I was enjoying the life I had right now.
Corie and I haven't spoken much, sometimes I would call her after a concert and we would exchange "how are you? I'm fine, the tour is going well," there wasn't much more after that. She told me that she was planning to meet her brother after I gave her what I knew of his apartment and went to visit her family back in Arizona.
I really missed her, I did now that we're in a good place– there was just no time for us to meet. She would complain about finals and mid-terms, some really stressful shit.
Being on tour and experiencing the crowds and love made me really humble and thankful for everything that happened, I couldn't thank my fans enough.

Corie's Point of View
Kacey and Calum were celebrating their two year anniversary together, they took the whole spring break and traveled to Greece.
What did I do during spring break? I contacted Shawn about my brother and started to look for him, it was something that would always bother me at the end of the day.
I wanted to throw up, badly. The entire plan ride I wanted to but I wasn't going to force myself to— I should've.
Luke was with me the entire time though— I mean the plane ride, comforting in the hotel room, prep talks, taking me out for ice cream and little stuff like that.
I did find Troye, I recognized his stupid face from miles away, he recognize me instantly. We talked everything about— Dad, Mom, Mackenzie, me and what happened while he went missing.
After my Dad committed suicide, Troye up and ran away. My mom went crazy— creating a manhunt to find him, tracking him down, putting up missing posters, constantly asking the police for updates— until Mackenzie went off on her, yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs that Troye wanted to leave and we couldn't bring him back.
