Ranveer's Point of View:
"what? what is the way?", i asked feeling a new enthusiasm.
"does he know how you look?", she asked i said,
"no. why?",
"because then he will never recognize you! all you need is to get a disguise. wear a dhoty, kurta and turban and he will think you are some villager. we can get out of here easily without much work.", she said as it immediately struck me.
exactly! how stupid of me!
"come on. we need to get to the headman's room and steal it as soon as possible. there is not enough time.:, she said as we rushed out of the room.
within ten minutes i was ready in the complete villager avatar and she wore an old and nearly worn out saree of the headman's wife with much happiness.
"come on..", she whispered as we tiptoed out of the house. i had picked up my gun and had slowly tucked it in my dhoti. just in case.
the village was quite a greenery rich area. we tiptoed towards the cars hiding behind the range of trees along the road. Devika holding my hand tightly all the while.
there were people in the car. as we walked she suddenly stopped and pulled me by my arm. i looked at the same spot as hers. it was unmistakable that a police officer sat inside looking at his phone. a photo clear on it's touch screen.
my photo.
we could hear him speaking to the man opposite to him.
"this is the man. catch him and we will be getting a promotion.", he said happily.
i gulped nervously. this was bad.
Devika looked up at me in the darkness as i looked back at her dumbly.
i definitely had nothing to say.
"hey! there is someone!", one of the police man said noticing us in the dark. i immediately turned to flee followed by Devika and a group of two or three officers calling for more people. my throat went try as i pulled out fully loaded rifle and shot blindly through the thick woods which stretched endlessly in front of us.
the bullet hit someone as he growled in pain.
bullets were fired from behind as one hit me on my left arm. the run continued as Devika ran along with me. i held her hand with my injured hand and took a sharp turn and hid behind the trees. it was dark and definitely difficult to spot. in the haste to catch me the policeman had forgotten torches.
"fin him!", the commanding voice of an officer said as the others set out in search.
i pulled Devika towards myself she merely looked up at me.
Devika's Point of View:
i looked up at him. his hand was bleeding very badly. the bullet had touched his skin and passed trading his flesh off. i quietly tore a small piece from my cotton saree and quietly tied it around the wound to stop the bleeding somehow. he just looked down at me in awe.
he did not speak but just looked down at me. his eyes had no pain, no feelings, no nothing as always. just then a police officer passed by us. i pulled myself towards him as he wrapped his hands around me, protectively.
the officer returned after a while not noticing us because of the dense darkness of the forest.
"no where!", the officer said as he returned.
"no! we lost him!!", the commanding officer shouted in frustration.
"officer Randhir will kill us now! idiots you all are! come on.. we have to go. this is not a safe place..!", the officer said and they retraced their steps.
Ranveer finally exhaled a breath of relief resting his head on the trunk of the tree. he still held me in his embrace.
after a while he released me.
he sat down under the tree in pain. his feet was bleeding again.
"you should have bought another saree. too many wounds..", he said with dry laughter as tears of pain ran down his eyes.
"true..", i said smiling as i knelt before him tearing some part of the saree's frail edge again.
"thank you.", he said looking up at the dark leaves.
"i thought gangsters were those people who could never say thank you.", i said trying his bleeding feet.
"that is pure injustice. we are also humans although prefer being animals. isn't that what life has treated me and my criminal friends? like animal of the wild..", he said with a warmth in his voice i had never experienced before.
tears ran down his eyes. i did not which wounds they belonged to.. did they belong to his external wounds or to the internal one?
who knew..? he would never reveal.
I hope you have a great night or day don't forget to comment and vote share your thoughts about the characters what you think and also i will update tomorrow two bye now kisses ya'll good night.
