Ranveer's Point of View:

i looked down at her motionless. as if all my wits had given away.

"yes.", i said softly after a while as i pulled her closer to myself protectively.

"thank you.", she whispered as i remained silent.

just then there was a rustle of leaves. i immediately moved away from her as both of us stood up. there was someone and we knew it.

"who is there?", i asked as no reply came from the dark shrubs.

"i think we should get inside.", Devika whispered rubbing off her tears.

"yes. maybe it is the wind.", i said knowing this was not the truth. there was definitely somebody out there.

we walked into the house and into the room allotted to us.

i sat down on the bed. the scars had not yet healed and it was painful to stand and walk.

Devika looked tensed as she walked in.

"i think there someone out there. it is not the wind.", she concluded.

i looked up to her and said,

"i know. it is just that they should not know that we know. keeps them ignorant, you see.", i said nodded and come and sat beside me.

she looked up at me.

"what do we do?", she asked me.

"wait. we need to know who it is. it is not quite possible that somebody just came to know about our location.", i replied looking away from her.

Darkness had descended and the outside looked scary from the small window in the room.

"i am hungry!", Devika finally said releasing the tension in the room.

"so i am.", i said truthfully standing up.

"let's check out what Mr. Scientist has for the supper.", i said as we walked into the kitchen asleep and i preferred that.

i never bothered to ask him his name therefore it was always.

'Mr. scientist for him.

there was nothing much except a few packets of instant noodles and a lot of vegetables. i sighed.

"time for some two - minute noodles, it seems.", i said picking up one packet.

that night we ate two packets of instant noodles each and went to bed with a lot of satisfaction.

"i love instant noodles!", Devika said laying down on the bed. she had a tone of childish bliss.

"you looked too happy. may i know the reason behind it?", i asked as i sat on the bed resting my back on the headboard of the bed. she immediately sat up and looked at me.

"because of you.", she said with the same eternally happy smile.

"you are not that bad. you like showing off everyone that you are.", she said without any fear. as if she was speaking to her childhood best friend about the new dress she bought.

"i know.", i said, now resting my head against the headboard of the bed and looking at the ceiling.

she edged closer to me as i looked down at her.

"what?", i asked as she just looked at me and smiled.

she wrapped her hands around my neck and kissed me softly on my cheek.

"
what is wrong with you?", i asked as i looked straight into her eyes. she immediately moved away, blushing deeply.

"nothing..", she whispered looking away. i knew she was smiling shyly and i did not know, but i knew that kiss was not like anything i have ever felt in the last ten years.

i was about to say something when suddenly a burning smell because quite evident. i immediately got off the bed.

"something is burning.", i stated as Devika too was drawn out of her happiness in an instant.

"yes. and if i am not wrong, the thing burning is this house itself.", she said looking at me with fear.
