Alpha sped to the hospital.

Almost as quickly as the tears sped down his face.

This couldn't be happening, this couldn't be happening.

Alpha had known for a long time that his father hadn't been in the best condition. He was just begging for the longest time that nothing would happen.

Guess  now he was out of luck.

He stormed into the waiting room of the ER.

They kindly asked him to take a seat and wait, but Alpha wasn't having any of that.

He was still arguing with her when the woman got a call.

She looked up at Alpha with fear in her eyes, she took the phone away from her ear.

"It-it's for you."

She held it out for him.

Alpha took it.

"Hello?"

"Is this Alpha Peterson?"

"Yes..."

"Your father passed in the ambulance on the way here."

The phone dropped from his hand.

"What?" He said softly.

The calm before the storm.

"No, no. No no no," He got louder with each one.

"Sir, please calm down."

Shocked by her words, he ran out the door.

How could someone be so rude?

Alpha sat in his car, bawling.

What else could he do?

What else was he supposed to do?

He couldn't save anyone.

He was useless, pointless.

Aria was just a lucky accident.

The only thing holding them together was a series of messed up coincidences.

No, no, he couldn't think like that. He'd loose her that way.

He didn't want to loose anyone else.

He called Annie and asked her to give the phone to Aria.

"Alpha?"

Upon hearing her voice, Alpha broke down again.

"A-Aria, he's gone..."

"Oh Alpha...I'm sorry."

He pulled in another sob, "I-I didn't even say goodbye to him this morning..."

"It's okay, it's okay."

Alpha collected himself, "Oh god. I'll be home soon...just, don't tell them, okay?"

"Of course, Alpha."

Alpha hung up and started driving home.

Aria was waiting for him at the door.

She hugged him.

Alpha started sobbing again.

She pulled away and wiped the tears from his cheek.

Alpha held the side of her face.

He slowly leaned in and kissed her.
