{Trenton}
•THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY•"So why do we have to wear all black again?" I asked, pulling my hood over my head.
"To be less obvious at night and not be distinguishable." Eric said, stopping at a stop light. I nodded. We were on our way back to Alonzo's for the one week mark.
When we arrived another party was going on.
"Does this guy ever sleep?" I mumbled.
"I've never seen him be asleep. Ever." Eric said, chuckling. He knocked on the door and Alonzo answered.
"Right on time! Come on in!" Alonzo grinned. He always had on pitch black shades and black clothing.
We followed him inside as I looked at so many people dancing, so many attractive women walking around basically naked, and the aroma of marijuana filled the air. We went back into his back room behind the sliding wooden doors. He used his ID again, and closed it behind us.
"I think I'm gonna start calling this my office." He said. We sat on the couch. "So. Deal em to me." He folded his fingers. I pulled out multiple stacks of 20 and 100 dollar bills from my jacket, as did Eric. He began to add them up, his eyebrows raising. "Very very nice you guys. Very nice!" He started. "You've earned well over expected profits. Exemplary." He said, carrying the stacks to his cabinet. He began to play music over speakers and rolled a blunt for all of us individually then went into a mini fridge in the corner and he pulled out a bottle of alcohol. He sat them on the table between us.
The large room was filled with expensive looking furniture. There was a fireplace to the right of where Eric and I sat, 2 large speakers were behind the couch Alonzo sat in, a painting on each wall equalling 4, 2 statues, a mini fridge to the far left, 2 poles, a balcony that overlooked the large pool in the back of his house that were full of people, and 2 doors on the wall behind Eric and I.
He dimmed the lights and grabbed cups from the same cabinets he got the money from and poured us all a drink. He grabbed his suitcase and dropped a pill in each.
"What's that?" I asked.
"It's a surprise. My special mix." He said, lifting his glass. "Cheers."
Eric and I lifted ours as well and clinked them together then took a couple of sips. It was kinda fruity and sweet but you could tell something was added.
"That's good." Eric said, pointing at the cup.
"I'm glad you like it. Now, don't think I forgot your profits." He said. I felt a whoosh weakness go over my body as I took another hit. He went into his cabinet and grabbed a couple of stacks of money. "Together, you both brought in 100k. 25% of that would be $25,000. Better than anyone I've had in a long time. Split it as you wish, evenly would be $12.5k each." He began to count out $100 bills in front of us, then slid us the money. I was in awe. No part time job would get me 12 and a half thousand dollars in a week. I stuck the money in my pocket as he began to fill up our bags. After he handed them to us, I put my money in my bag.
"Carla! Rose! Vanessa! Alexa!" He called. Women came from the doors behind us, 1 sitting between Eric and I, one on each of the opposite sides of us and 1 next to Alonzo. They all wore the regular all black bikini and knee high heels. Carla was Latina, Rose was white, Vanessa was black and Alexa looked Russian. They all ran their hands on our chests.
"We must discuss a few things." He said, reaching under each cushion on either side of him and pulling out 2 9mm pistols. "I need you guys to carry these." We grabbed them and put them in the waists of our pants. "The trolls are onto us again. My next sentence is life. Which means an end to all money making jobs. I know exactly who's researching my case and has all the information on me. I also know the address of his office." He said, sliding an envelope across the table.
"What exactly is it you need us to do?" Eric asked.
"Eliminate him from this game we call life." He said seriously. My heart dropped. Eric nodded. My eyes widened and I looked at him. Alonzo laughed hysterically.
"What's the matter Trenton? Never got your hands dirty before?" He said. I stared in shock. "Ah. I see. Well soon, you'll realize how serious this business is. We all get our hands dirty. The kind of dirt that you can't wash from your conscience while you're taking a shower or near the sink. And the only way out is with two tools. What tools may you ask? Well one, is behind bars. The other.... " He trained off, reaching into his pants. He pulled out a golden hand gun. He cocked it back. "The other is dead. I have amazing aim. Would you like to see?"
"I-Im--" I stuttered. He stood and opened the balcony doors and sat back down.
"The bar holding up the banister in the exact middle will fall." He said. He kept eye contact with me and turned his gun directly to the left and shot it. The skinny middle bar broke off and fell off. Holy shit.
"Yeah. It's Hitler's Golden Walther PP."
"Shit, those are---" Eric started.
"Expensive as fuck?" He chuckled. "Yeah, they are. But are you guys up for the assignment?" He asked. We were quiet. I was about to shit my pants.
"The answer is yes, fellas. Frankly, my other guys are too pussy to handle an assignment as such. It really hurts, makes me feel that they're only here for the profits and parties. No loyalty. I'll deal with them later."
"Yeah, we'll take the assignment, Alonzo." Eric said. I looked at him again. Kill an officer? Fuck, Trenton. What the hell have you gotten into?!
"Perfect. I feel I can rely on you two. Now, let's go over some information." He said, then got up and went into the rooms behind us.
"Eric what the fuck?!" I whispered.
"What man?" He said.
"We have to kill a guy?! Not what I signed up for." I said. He shrugged.
"Boss's orders." He said.
"How are you so calm dude? Like really!"
"It's not new to me Trenton. This is real life, not the movies or the shit in Grand Theft Auto." He said nonchalantly. My eyes bugged.
"You--you've---" I stammered.
"The burglaries going on at every other corner shop? Muggings at Midnight? The busted window near the handles of the banks entrance doors?" He said, referring to the recent reports on the news. My heart sank.
"You?!" I asked, baffled. He nodded. I put my hand on my forehead and leaned back. I took a large hit of my blunt. I had a decision to make. Try to walk out now with all of the secrets and risk my life, or play the game.
"Alright!" Alonzo said, coming out of the room with a thick folder. He sat back across from us. He put the paper on top in front of us. It showed us his name, a picture of him, and all of his information.
"Anthony Barkley. African American male, approximately 6 feet tall, 35 years old, 175 pounds. His workplace is located on 5th and Deluna, his home address is on 17th and Lexington. He graduated from the school you guys go to, completed 4 years of law, and completed his course in the police academy." He stated, flipping the page. "His wife is sexy, I may have her work for me. He also has 3 children, all in middle school. Poor kids." He said unenthusiastically. "You guys getting this information so far?"
"Yeah." We both said. He nodded.
"Alright. I've had some of my guys figure this man out and find out his routine on the DL. He works 6 days a week, he doesn't have any vacations or anything planned any time soon so it will be perfect. The only day he doesn't work is Sundays. He works 12 hour shifts, usually 8am to 8pm.
"Now, on a regular day, like all happily married men, they wake up next to their smokin hot wife, give them a peck on the cheek, but no, she wants more, they make out for a bit to the point where he may get rid of his morning wood but ah! Checks the time and sees he's gonna be running late soon. So he gets up, puts his uniform on, grabs breakfast, kisses the kids goodbye if they're not already at school, and leaves for work." He said. He pulled a map from the bottom of the folder, showing us his usual route to work.
"Of course, like the average Joe, he stops at Starbucks to get a quick coffee, then off to work." Alonzo said. "Now the plan is to wait until he's getting off, so it'll be less obvious to see you." He said, going into a nearby drawer. He tossed us back bandanas. "Tie that around your mouth and make sure you have on all black. The only thing that needs to be seen is your eyes. Jackets, yes. Hoods on. Entirely. Black." He reiterated. We nodded. I put the bandana in my back pocket.
"So this gets done tonight?" Eric asked.
"Tomorrow, in less than 24 hours. There will be a bonus for you both." He said. "I want you to come here before you go at precisely 6pm. Do not look inconspicuous. Wear regular clothes, but bring the all black as a spare so you can change here." He said. We nodded.
"Until then, enjoy the party, the drinks, and the women!" He grinned as we followed him to the sliding doors. That was absolutely what I was going to do. I needed to relax, I still felt like I was going to shit myself.
"I'll catch you bro!" Eric said soon after we left the office and as one of the females eyeballed him and pulled him by his shirt. I rolled my eyes and waved him off as he disappeared into the crowd with her. My phone vibrated.
