{Donna}
I jumped awake as the end of the day bell rang and sighed. Practice time and after that, a shit ton of homework at home. Another thing had been bugging me out all weekend.
Mom and Dad seemed... off with each other for some reason, kind of like when Trenton and I had first met him and Mom was trying to warm up to him. The love was there, Dad was just kind of... different.
I shook the thought and changed into my sport bra and spandex for practice.
"Donna!" My best friend Stephanie Davidson called from across the locker room. She raced over to hug me. She was taller than me with green eyes, long eyelashes, peach skin, red lips, long brown hair, and a curvy body. She was the same age as me.
"Steph, hey." I giggled and hugged her back.
"So have you heard?" She said, sitting on the bench across from my locker.
"Heard what?" I squinted, tying the laces on my shoes and then going to put my hair up with the hair tie and white bow connected to it.
"Well... we're practicing out in the football field and practice is shorter." She smirked. I nodded.
"Yeah I knew that but why are you smiling so much about it?"
"Because Travis will be out there of course." She tapped her toes on the tile floor.
"Oh Lord, why can't we practice alone?" I groaned, walking with her toward the doors to the gym.
"Because other people exists and they have to take advantage of the field too." She chuckled. Coach blew her whistle so we'd hurry.
After stretches and routines, we had to run 2 miles without stopping in under 12 minutes around the football field.
I plugged my headphones in and took off. Halfway through the mile, something hard hit my left thigh, leaving a red circle as I looked down. I stopped and looked for the source.
"Sorry!" A tall guy from the football called from the field. He wore his uniform and a helmet, his skin was bright tanned white, and his eyes were silver. I rolled my eyes and picked it up. We walked toward each other.
"You know you kinda need to be here, don't miss practice because you need to learn how to catch the damn ball." I tossed it on the floor in front of him as his team mates laughed in the background. He picked it up and jogged toward me as I walked back to the track, thigh stinging.
"Hey wait." he said, grabbing my right shoulder. I stopped and turned around. " You need any ice or anything?"
"Funny. No I'm fine." I said.
"Just looking out."
"Well what you need to look out for is the ball and make sure your hands get to it." I smiled.
"You're right." He laughed under his helmet. My coach blew her whistle. I rolled my eyes and went back to the track.
After practice I met up with Trenton and we sat outside to wait for Dad.
"Be right back." He said, sitting his bookbag and gym bag near me and walking off to talk with his team. A group of dancers sat at the table in the grass nearby.
After practice I had changed into casual wear, usually sweatpants, a tshirt, and Nike AF1's and took my hair out of the high tight ponytail. I looked in my phone camera to make sure my makeup was still okay after the practice in this oven temperature heat. After, I locked my phone and swung my bags over each shoulder.
Trenton walked over to the table of dancers and they all started looking at him and talking to him, but he went to talk to one girl. I knew her, her name was Alexandria. She was Latina, long beautiful brown hair, plump and always glossed pink lips, a perfectly arched nose like a pixie, a defined jawline, long eyelashes, perfect and thin eyebrows, chocolate brown eyes, cream skin, round and perfect midsized boobs, a tight and flat stomach with a belly button ring, hourglass curves, round hips, a big round butt, curvy legs, and was mid-heighted with small feet. Basically, the girl was hot. They made kinda...odd facial expressions. They conversated until Dad got here 5 minutes later. Trenton stepped up the few stairs and grabbed his bag and we walked to the car.
I unplugged my headphones as I plopped into bed. It felt so good laying on my matress after another long day.
I got up and shut my door and got naked. I wrapped myself in my towel and took my body wash and other bath things to the bathroom and ran a steaming hot bath. While the bath ran I put on a green avocado face mask then sat in the water, the hot steam and stinging of the water relieved so much tension in my muscles.
My phone buzzed from the floor next to me. I dried my hands and forearms off and grabbed my phone. It was a group video chat between my best friends Serenity, Dasia, and Lauren. I hit answer and all of their faces brightened my screen. Serenity's sandy brown skin, light blue eyes, and light brown hair along with the rest of her beauty glowed from the top right corner of my screen, Dasia, a brown human Barbie, with her chocolate brown eyes, chocolate skin, bright white smile and dark shoulder length spiral curls glowed from the top left portion of my screen, Lauren's pale skin, bright green eyes and her long, thick, beautiful and luscious trademark red hair exploded from the bottom left of my screen, and there was just me on the bottom right.
"Hey!" We all said, scattered.
"So what are the plans for today?" Dasia said.
"Well we kinda do have that chapter test tomorrow, so do you guys wanna come study then just hang at my house today?" Lauren said.
"Yeah sure." We all said in our own ways.
" Alright. It's about 3:30 so let's meet up in about an hour?" she said. " I'm gonna bring that guy Taylor, the quarterback?"
"No!" Serenity breathed, eyes bulged.
"Yes! He's been needing the help anyways." She chuckled. I shook my head.
"You guys I gotta finish his bath so I'll call back later." I groaned and hung up, putting my phone on the floor this time.
After I finished washing I blow dried my loosely curled hair and straightened it. I threw on an oversized tshirt, Capri spandex, and white high-top converse.I did my makeup and sprayed hair sheen on my hair.
I texted them that I was on my way and grabbed my book bag and sprayed perfume on.
"Dad!" I called, coming downstairs. No answer. I stopped at the base of the stairs, and he stood by Mom with his fingers in his hair.
"Yes sweetie?" He said.
"Um.. can you take me to Lauren's to study for the test tomorrow?"
"Sure." He said, grabbing his keys and going straight out the door. I nodded at Mom, who looked uneasy, and headed out.
He pulled straight out as soon as I shut my door. I sighed.
"Dad?"
"Yes princess?" he responded.
"What's wrong?"
"What do you mean? Everything is fine." He smirked.
"You sure? "
"Yes baby." He said. The rest of the ride was silent. He pulled into Lauren's driveway. "Make sure you call, text, something. I love you."
"Love you Dad." I said, getting out of the car and shutting the door behind me.
I walked to the front door as he pulled out of the driveway. I knocked on it and Serenity opened it. I smiled.
"Hi Donna!" She giggled as we hugged. I came in. Everyone sat in the living room.
"Took you long enough chick." Lauren smiled and hugged me. Dasia got up and hugged me to. The place was still as spotless as usual. Her parents were at work like always, they were both doctors and Lauren was an only child.
"We're going up to my room, c'mon." She said, leading they way. Lucky her, her room took up the entire top floor.
Her room was basically a bedroom and living room in one with her own bathroom. I sat my bag on the couch in her room that was in front of the enormous flat screen, sat on the couch and unlocked my phone and looked at my Instagram notifications. Only 230 likes after an hour of my new post I had posted while in the bath earlier, with bubbles covering my body from my clavicle and down and my messy curls in a loose bun. I rolled my eyes and clicked my phone off.
"Damn, we meet again huh?" A male voice said from the left of me. I looked quickly and squinted.
"Uh.. who are you?"
"You must not recognize me without my helmet on." He said, sitting on the cushion next to me. I looked. Silver eyes, tan skin. I automatically slapped my hands to my thighs.
"Great. Now you're following me." I rolled my eyes.
" I said I was sorry alright? I didn't even know you'd be here honestly."
"Right." I smirked.
"Okay I'm lying but I wouldn't say following."
"Yeah alright." I said. I noticed he had straight short dark brown hair and the veins from his forearms to his hands bulged. I inhaled deeply.°3 hours later°
7:03pm
Serenity and Dasia already left, their rides were here as soon as the study session ended. Lauren, Taylor and I sat outside in the sunsetting outdoors. Lauren kept us company, but went on to pull a cigarette from her purse and go to the side of the house to smoke it. I pulled out my phone, just so Taylor wouldn't talk to me. I could see him from the side of my view staring. I glanced, then slowly looked back to my phone. He continued.
"You know, if you take a picture it would last longer." I said, annoyed. He nodded, pulled out his phone and snapped a quick picture. I slapped my palm to my face.
"I mean you said so." he shrugged.
"It was sarcasm."
"If you say so."
"Why do you keep doing this?" I rubbed my temple.
"Doing what?"
"This whole thing, being weird."
"I guess I'm just a weirdo." He said, nonchalantly.
"Yes you are."
"Look, geez are you like this to every guy that talks to you?"
"No, just low skilled delinquents." I looked away.
"That hurt. " He walked toward me.
"That's cool."
"Can we please try this again? I'm Taylor." He said, sticking his hand out. I shook it. His grip was firm.
"Nice to meet you." I replied.
"And you are?"
"Donna." I said.
"Pretty name."
"I know." I said. He rolled his eyes eyes.
"Good. Pretty name for a pretty girl." He said. I looked at him, but no words came out if my mouth. My gaze fell to his hands. I quickly looked away. The veins... Jesus the veins. There was silence. Lauren came back from bthe side of the house the same time my Dad showed up. I got up quickly.
"Hey wait." Taylor said, grabbing my hand. After a second I took it away. He scribbled something on a scrap of paper and folded it. "Take it." He put it in my hand. I turned back around and got in the car. Dad pulled off, and I stuffed whatever he scribbled in the side pocket of my bookbag.
