~The next day~
You woke up bright and early, smacking Ana across the bed with a pillow,
"Get up!"
Usually, you would've been the last one to wake up, but today, you decided to get Ana back for all the times she made you fall off the bed and hurt your back.
"Ok ok please don't kill me"
The woman scurried into the bathroom for a shower. You silently waited for her, grabbing your glasses and tying your hair up. You sported a white tank top. It was the best way to avoid the sun's glare.
Once you were all set and ready to go, you decided to use the Jeep from for a change. Ana had bought it when she came to Egypt a few months back.
You were determined to stay in the pharaoh's tomb and get your work done.
Once you arrived back at the tomb sites, you headed straight in.
"Yo woman where do you think you're going?"
You turned around to face the female,
"I'm spending the day in the pharaoh's tomb. I need to get over my paranoia"
Ana sighed, looking at the ground,
"Okay just don't come crying to me this time"
"Yes ma'am"
You began pulling your supplies out before looking over the pharaoh's sarcophagus. Today you would open it. You grabbed your brushes, gently cleaning off the dirt and grime that had collected over the years on the tomb stone. His sarcophagus appeared to be made of gold. The jewels that covered the tombstone were very beautiful, but, there hadn't been any depiction of what he had looked like, anywhere in sight. Most sarcophagi at least had a mask, displaying the pharaoh that had resided within.
You glanced at the walls in the room. The storyline extended pretty far. You heaved a sigh. As much as you would've loved to see his corpse, you would need to do it another day. You grabbed your glasses, wiping them off from the dust that had engulfed them, before reading some more hieroglyphics. A picture that depicted a rose along with a letter came into view. It read,
"My love. We shall spend our lives, and eternity together."
You didn't know what it was, but, you felt a sense of dread consume you. The feeling felt incredibly strong. You swallowed thickly to prevent yourself from crying. It felt as if something wanted you to cry. You gazed at the carving of the rose. It was now a pale orange. Time had eroded its color away. Those words you read felt so true, so strong. Underneath the rose's image, you found another quote,
'Even without you here, the sun will rise. It will be a brand new day.'
The intensity of the emotion you felt was getting to you. You gave the words one last look, before moving across the room to clean off the rest of the artifacts. You somehow wished the pharaoh and the queen stayed together. They seemed perfect for each other. It was a tragic story for the star-crossed lovers.
