The Nightmare

☬ Chapter Eleven: Warning Shot ☬

       Bug gulps loudly, "Umbrella?" Bug ask's again as a bead of sweat drips down the side of his head. Hunnigan nods her head, "I can't believe I didn't see it before. How could my tech not detect that we were being tapped? Who ever that person is, is pretty good." Hunnigan says as she leans back in her seat.

"Hunnigan, why didn't you continue to ask the man anymore questions? We barely even got any information out of him." Bug curiously ask's as he stop's at a red light.

"Dr. Grey gave us more information than you realized. We know Umbrella is working with the people at the Asylum, which means we should expect the worst if we're gonna sneak inside the Asylum. We also know that they've been experimenting on the patients, so we should expect to find some nasty things in there. Umbrella's planning something big down there is what Dr. Grey said. In that case, we are gonna need to be extra careful. And who know's, they could be the ones who murdered Cybil and Chris." Hunnigan says as she crosses her arms.

       Bug immediately snaps his fingers as he comes to a conclusion, "Maybe that's why they were killed. They were probably investigating the partnership between Umbrella and the Asylum. And when they found out too much, they were gotten rid of. It makes sense, I mean why else would there bodies of been located a mile away from the Asylum!" Bug eyes widen in excitement as he begins putting the pieces together. He hits the gas pedal as the red light turns green.

       Hunnigan thinks to herself, slowly nodding her head. "That make's sense. But I mean this is all speculation and what not."

"Why else would Cybil and Chris be out here in the middle of Colorado?! They know what the hell's going on down there." Bug says as he makes a turn onto a busy street, he stops behind a few cars, who are waiting at a red light.

"It's not like we can ask them what they know, Bug." Hunnigan tells him as if he forget they were dead. Bug nods his head, "Yeah I know. But Jill isn't...we need to find her. And I can bet you anything she's in the Asylum being held captive." Bug says as he begins driving around the cars who are still stopped at the green light. He passes them and makes a left onto a dirt road.

      Hunnigan frowns, "Why do you say that?" She curiously ask's him.

"I just have a gut feeling about it. And my gut feeling's are always right too." Bug passes a 'DO NOT ENTER' sign in the middle of the street. They see Jackson's Bus still in the middle of the road with their gear in the same spot as well.

      The Black Hooded person watches Bug and Hunnigan pass by her from the tree's. She smiles as she closes her keyboard, "You should of taken out you're ear pieces." The woman chuckles as she shakes her head. "They are too smart for their own good. These two are beginning to be a nuisance for me, looks like I need to take care of them." The woman opens up her keyboard again and types in N-A-P-A-D. Closing it back up she smiles as she leaps backwards into the woods, disappearing.

       Ada walks along the ditch with Kendra and Miles walking behind her, Miles glances back to see the Bus as a tiny spec in the distance down the road. "We've gotten pretty far from the bus. Should we go back?" Miles ask's as he looks forward again.

"We're fine. Heather and the other's are around keeping watch. We need to find something." Ada says as she continues scanning the ditch. Kendra coughs and crosses her arm's, she looks past the ditch into the woods. She see's some tree's and branches broken. She quickly grabs Ada's shoulder and spins her to face the woods. Ada and Miles' eyes widen as they stare at the scene for a few moments.

"It looks like there was a fight here or something." Kendra says as she begins to walk down into the ditch with Ada and Miles following behind them, crossing the water they step into the woods to see even more damage and destruction ahead of them. "Holy shit." Miles mutters under his breath as he sees tree's toppled over and the ground pulled out in some spots.
