The Nightmare

☬ Chapter Fourteen: Halfway Mark ☬

      Heather begins pushing buttons on the pad to go back up, but Sebastian stop's her and grabs her hands. "Sebastian, we need to go back up! I can't just sit here while their up there fighting." Heather slams Sebastian into the wall, she accidentally elbows him in the ribs. Sebastian hisses out in pain as the wound around his rib opens back up, he suddenly feels the blood trickling down his stomach. Lifting up his shirt he and Heather both see his band aid wrap soaking up the blood. 

       Heather gasp's, "I'm sooo sorry, Sebastian!" Heather turns around and sees the elevator making it to the bottom floor, the doors open up and she immediately begins calling out for help. 

     A few nurses and doctor's passing by the elevator see her and Sebastian bleeding, they immediately begin attending to him. Heather helps them place him on a stretcher. Looking up Heather hear's shooting and crashing upstairs on the fifth floor. She gulps loudly and looks around the hallways, searching for her team. She see's Hunnigan, Nereyda and Kendra in a room together laying silently watching TV with a few band aids on their cheeks and body. She nod's her head and runs down the hallway to see Ada and Miles, who's is asleep in his bed, in a room at the very end of the hallway, she sees Ada looking distressed and anxious. As she's about to open the door the Hospital building slightly shakes, Heather and Ada look up at the ceiling. Heather turns around and see's Nurses and Doctor's running towards the staircase and elevators. 

"Noo! Everyone need's to stay down here!!" Heather screams as she runs after them. Ada hears Heather screaming and puts the cube down. She slides out of bed and walks out the room, Miles jerks up in his bed and sees Ada walking after Heather. He follows her, still in his hospital gown. Heather runs past Kendra's room, they see Heather run by. Shortly after Ada and Miles trudge past also, they immediately follow them as well. 

      Jackson tackles a Strelat to the wall and begins punching it in the underbelly. It begins screeching and hollering as it attempts to bite the top of his head. Bug grabs a fire extinguisher and bashes it in the face. Jackson hears the other Strelat screaming at the end of the hallway, attempting to get out from the room that's caught on fire. 

"We have to end this quickly! There gonna destroy the entire building at this rate!" Jackson screams over the creatures screeching. Bug nods his head agreeing as he hits the creature in the face again. Blood begins dripping down onto Jackson's head and face, he spits out some blood that makes it into his mouth. 

     Bug notices the severed tail slightly moving, he gasps when he see a light puff of smoke ease it's way out of the tail. Bug immediately grabs Jackson by the collar and yanks him back, suddenly a huge cloud of purple smoke erupts from the tail. Jackson and Bug immediately cover their mouth's as they begin coughing. The creature whacks Bug with it's tail, sending him through a door, into an empty room. 

     The Strelat swiftly spins and hits Jackson with it's severed tail and sends him on his back. Jackson groans as he suddenly feels the as though he's suffocating. He see's the axe dug into the floor a few feet from him, he looks back at sees the creature in a running position. He quickly gets up and runs towards the axe as the creature chases after him. 

      Jackson pulls the axe out from the ground and turns around, immediately lifting it up over his head. The Strelat leaps towards him as he slams the axe down. The Strelat tackles him to the ground with the axe in it's head. Jackson groans as he pushes the creature off of him and flips onto his stomach. He see's Doctors and Nurses rushing around the hallway helping out patients and doctors around the room on fire. 

     Bug pokes his head out the door and his eyes widen in fear, he immediately turns to face Jackson, he remembers shoving the Strelat into the room with oxygen tanks and lighting it on fire.
