The Nightmare

☬ Chapter Twenty-Two: Entering Mount Massive Asylum ☬

Everyone begins to climb over the fence and land swiftly on their feet. They immediately dash for the side of the building, Jill looks around the yard searching for enemies, but doesn't see a single soul. They make to the side of the building, Hunnigan sees the construction site, they begin to climb up the poles and ladders. As they make to the second floor windows, they quietly enter the building. Everyone is suddenly overcome by the stench of death.

Hunnigan begins to gag as she tries to cover her nose. Bug frowns at her, but keeps his mouth closed. They hear yelling and shouting in the distance. Jill pulls out a small flashlight and begins to shine it around the pitch black room, they see shelves with books on them. She takes a step forward, but steps in something mushy. She stops and shines her light down at her feet, she frowns when she sees a pool of blood and a few pieces of carved out flesh in it. Hunnigan begins to gag once again when she sees it. She takes a few steps back and bump's into something. She gasps and slowly turns around, Jill shines her light at Hunnigan.

Before Hunnigan could scream, Jackson runs up behind her and covers her mouth. She screams into his hand as she stares the body of a man hanging upside down with his head cut off and his stomach torn open. Jackson moves her away from the body and keeps her eyes off of him. A tear begins to slide down the side of her cheek. Bug watches her in shock, seeing her a complete mess.

"Hunnigan, please. You need to pull yourself together. You're gonna get us killed. You need to come to terms with this fast, you're gonna see a lot worse than this in due time. Please..." Jackson hoarsely whispers into her ear. Hunnigan sniffles a few times before nodding her head. Jackson lets her go and removes his hand from her mouth. She sniffles as she wipes away the few tears with the back of her hand.

Everyone pulls out small flashlights and they begin to walk around the aisles of tall book shelves with Jackson and Jill in the lead. Sebastian and Nereyda cover the middle as Bug and stays behind Hunnigan, keeping an eye on her. They pass multiple mutilated bodies and pieces of the human body littered everywhere.

Hunnigan adverts her eyes from the blood and bodies and tries to keep her eyes up, staring at the back of Sebastian's head. She covers her nose again from the stench, her eyes begin to water up. Jill stops when they see the door to the hallway slightly open, a bright light shinging into the room. Jill along with everyone else pull out their handguns, keeping them to their sides.

Jill peers out into the hallway to see a path with wooden railings and glass windows along the top of the railings, leading around the area with a huge space in the middle, where the lobby is at underneath it. She looks to the side to see the left side completely blocked off, glancing to her right she sees a big enough space for them all to slide through.

"We can slide through the crap that's blocking the way through. After that we are going to head downstairs to the basement, I'm sure that's where they are at." Jill softly says as she glances back at everyone, they all nod their heads. They each walk out, crouched down, behind each other. Jill and Jackson slide through to stand in front of an open door. Peering in they don't see anything, but pitch black. As they put their backs to the open door a pair of eyes appear behind them. As Sebastian and Nereyda are sliding through the space, the wall to their right breaks down. Walker bashes through the wall sending Nereyda and Sebastian through the railing with the objects. Bug and Hunnigan fall onto there backs.

"Nereyda! Sebastian!" Hunnigan shouts for them. Walker suddenly tackles both Jill and Jackson over the edge to the bottom. Hunnigan and Bug slowly crawl to the edge to see the four of them running away from Walker. Jill glances back and sees them watching them, "Go! Run! Hide!" She screams as she turns forward again and disappears into a hallway with the others and Walker.
