Look After You [Revamped]

(4) Homecoming

-1 year later-

It was their freshmen year and the week of homecoming. Everyone was being asked with crazy dance proposals and doing all the fun things for spirit week. Except Ellie Kate who wanted to die that week. Because her mom had started to work for the school as the school nurse. And that meant she was able to be the cheer coach at the school. One of the spirit days was alumni and her mom wore her dad's old football jersey proudly. 

That day was the most heartbreaking days cause everyone knew then who her parents were.  Bucky didn't care to let the whole school know either "Hey Ellie Kate Cooper where's mama's old cheer uniform why aren't you wearing it. Oh that's right Cherry Pie Cooper hates cheerleaders and football players. No wonder nobody wants to date you.  You are nothing but a nerd and nothing like your mama." Bucky said when he stopped her in the hallway. 

"I may be a cherry pie and a nerd but atleast I don't have a STD Barnes." she said as she walked away. 

"Its called condoms Ellie. You would know that if you werent a such sexless prude." He said as he went to his locker.

All morning she had to hear it that by lunch. She was over the day she personally just wanted to go home. They were serving chicken almond salad for lunch. She bit her lip she knew she was allergic to nuts and that her mom had her epi pens but it was one way of getting to go home early. 

She sat down where she eats alone with her one friend Olivia. It took two bites before her allergic reaction started take over. Bucky happened to look up "Shit.." he went running upstairs "Taylor Taylor Ellie..Ellie can't breathe." he said 

"What!?..did she eat a almond.." Taylor said 

"I dont know." He said

She grabbed an epi pen. They went running into the cafeteria. She got to her "Elliot.." She whispered as they got they on the floor.

"James hold her still as best as you can please..I don't want to hit her wrong and kill her." she said   

"Okay.." he said as Ellie was turning blue and her eyes were rolling into the back of her head.

"Sorry baby' she said as she jammed the epi pen into her. 

"Olivia why didn't  you pick the almonds out?' Taylor said 

"She didn't ask me to. She's been very quiet all day and I wasn't even paying attention to her tray." Olivia said 

Ryan came in since she texted him. Bucky had already gone back to his tray. Ryan picked her up "Daddy has you baby let's get you checked out." he whispered. 

Natasha looked at Bucky "What just happened?' she said 

"Ellie is allergic to nuts something tells me that she ate an allmond. I only know what to do cause she's done that before at my house. When we were little cause my mom had made us peanut butter sandwiches we didn't know that she was allergic neither did Taylor and Ryan till that day. My mom rushed her to the hospital. We were 4 and I remember the doctor telling them everything. It was very scary its always scary."  Bucky said 

After lunch period was over Bucky went to gym class. He was playing basketball when he seen Carter Johns the senior quarterback go into Taylor's cheer office. Which he thought was odd for him.

Taylor was bent over her desk as Carter pounded into her as squeezed her breasts. They had been having an affair for the past week.

That night was the football game Sophie came to sit with her at the hospital for her over the night observation. Taylor and Ryan both were not missing the game. Sophie was holding her hand and running her fingers over her wrist as she felt tiny scars. 

She looked down "Oh Ellie baby.." she whispered when she saw tiny scars on her wrist. 

Ellie woke up "Hey grandma.." she said 

"Hey baby you feel better?' Sophie said

"Yeah.. where's mom and dad?' she said 

"They went to the game baby." Sophie said 

"of course.." she said in a low tone. 

The next day Sophie brought her home. She walked into the house saw everyone in the kitchen. "Hey Ellie" Ryan said 

"Come join in the fun.." Taylor said 

"I'm fine by the way thanks for asking." she said as she started up the stairs. 

Bucky ran up after her "Ellie.. Ellie Kate" he said as he followed her into her room.

"You can just leave me alone." she said  

He shut the door behind him "Did you do that yesterday on purpose?' he said 

"Just go it's none of your business. I hate you." she said 

He walked over to her "Ellie don't you play stupid fucking games with me. Did you do it on purpose. Cause I know you know to have Olivia pick the shit out." he said 

"Go! You don't know what it's like to be me Bucky you have no idea. And you of all people make my life a living hell at school. So don't you dare come in here acting like you fucking giving a crap about me when I know damn well that you don't. So I'm gonna tell you the same thing you told me last summer when you got mad at me for butting into your life stay hell out of my business it's my life." she said 

He grabbed her wrist "It's your life you are right I should just let you die next time right..cause I know that's what these are about.' he said when he pointed to her scars.

"I will ask again Ellie did you do it on purpose?" He said

"It doesnt matter." She said as she took her hand back and he left her room.

He started out the door ""James"' Ryan said as Bucky slammed the door.

He came back in "She did it on purpose. The one fucking thing that has always scared the hell out of me since we were 4 years old." He said through tears.

"James honey calm down. She is fine you saved her yesterday." Winnie said  as Bucky walked out.
