*trigger warning*self-mutilation
most people would consider self-mutilation as harming oneself whether it's cutting or burning of oneself. But what if it's more than that? What if self-harm is much deeper than a scrape or a tug. What if it's staying with someone's abuse or letting someone take over you and possess you, making you their toy to play with. What if it's staying in bed every day never getting up only eating and sleeping for the rest of your days. What if it's looking at the mirror and absolutely hating what you see in the reflection and looks at you wishing you could be something else. What if it's weighing yourself five times a day hoping the numbers go more and more down as the days go by, by restrictive eating or purging. Maybe self-harm isn't just skin deep but harms one's self and well being.
Why have we not addressed this yet?
