Since the doctor still had to clear things with the General and Colonel, Steve was staying in Brooklyn for a few more weeks while Amber and Bucky left together. Arriving at the base just showed how badly the war was and how much lying the government had been doing to its people. Immediately Amber was greeted with the familiar face of Miss Carter, the woman who had arrived at her house with the Colonel to recruit her. "Miss Rogers" she curtly greeted, "Miss Carter" she replied, "Call me Peggy, now here's a list of the incoming men. Follow me and I'll show you how it's done" Peggy said, it was a lot to remember but Amber was a quick learner.
With all the chaos going around Bucky and Amber never got to see much more than a glimpse of each other. It was hard spending so much time apart with someone you were with every day, but the two managed to meet up every night once the activities were done, they'd simply talk about the future, it was the one thing giving them hope that they'd make it through this war.
