Our Love Will Last Till The End Of The Line

Steve's Arrival

Weeks after he 107th had been shipped out, Steve and Dr Erskine were shipped in. "I still cannot believe that you agreed to this" Peggy said, with Bucky gone Amber had become close friends with Peggy, the two were the strongest out of all the women here leaving them to be stubborn together. "He's my brother Peggy, I can't let him do this alone." Amber sighed, Peggy was apart of the super soldier serum project. Walking over to the new shipment of soldiers, Amber moved away from Peggy and over to her brother who was easy to spot seeing as that he was smaller than everyone and everything. "It's good to see you Steve" Amber said as she hugged her brother, "I've missed you" Steve told his sister making her smile, it felt like forever since she had smiled last. "Line up soldiers!" Peggy ordered, doing as Peggy said Steve fell in line with the other men as she began to give instructions. Amber couldn't hold back a laugh as Peggy docked a soldier, "First lesson! Respect the women here! We're a hell of a lot stronger than you think" Amber shouted out, "Line up men!" Colonel Phillips shouted, the men straightened up as Peggy walked over to Amber who sat on the back of one of the trucks. Colonel Phillips gave his usual 'we are going to win this war because of our men' speech which Peggy and Amber knew by memory now. 

After their recruitment, Peggy was in charge of training the men while Amber followed the Colonel around with a clipboard taking notes on things he thought was important. Dr Erskine joined them and began to try and convince the Colonel to allow him to use Steve as his subject for the super soldier serum project. "Look at him!" the Colonel shouted, gesturing to where her brother was struggling to keep up with his group, "He's making me cry" Colonel sarcastically said, he began to go on about Gerald Matthews, the man Peggy docked earlier that day, but Dr Erskine refused because Gerald Matthews was a bully. "You won't win a war with kindness Doctor" Colonel Phillips said as he grabbed a dummy grenade from the supply truck, "You win war with guts" he added as he threw the dummy grenade towards Steve's group, "Grenade!" the Colonel shouted all the men scattered and ducked behind boxes and trucks, but Amber beamed with pride as her brother jumped onto the grenade shouting for everyone to get back. When the grenade didn't go off Steve looked up at his sister and the Colonel, "Is this a test?" he panted out, "He's still skinny" the Colonel told Dr Erskine before marching off somewhere else, Amber hot on his heels.

After eating Amber went to her brother's quarters to see Dr Erskine making his way out. "I was just on my way to find you. Now fluids until after the procedure tomorrow." the Doctor instructed before briskly walking away, "Steve?" Amber called out, seeing her brother sitting on the edge of his bed she walked over and sat next to him. "Are you nervous about tomorrow?" Amber asked him, "Not really" Steve truthfully replied, "I am." Amber admitted, "Then why are you doing this?" Steve curiously asked, "Because I love you. You're my brother, my twin, we're supposed to do things together" Amber explained, bumping her shoulder against his making Steve laugh. "You're a great sister Amber" Steve said, "I had a great role model" she replied leaning her head against his shoulder.
