Unauthorized Rescue

Steve didn't believe that Bucky was dead, he was going to the 107th to find him and Amber was coming with, she needed answers and Steve knew better than to stand in her way. Peggy had been helpful in sneaking the two out of camp, she even got Howard Stark to fly them over the territory. Parachuting in, Amber and Steve fought their way up to Hydra's base, sneaking inside Amber and Steve had found the direction where the prisoners were being kept. Sneaking up from behind a guard Amber kicked them behind the knee and put her hand over their mouth and put them in a sleep hold as Steve grabbed the keys and unlocked the cages. "Who the hell are you?" a man asked as Steve finished giving them directions on how to get out. "I'm Captain America" he said as if it were obvious, "And who are you?" another man asked pointing over to Amber, "I'm Lieutenant America" she replied with a small snicker at the name. Running down another hallway Amber and Steve stopped as they saw a short man with papers and a suitcase in his hand, he ran down the hallway in the opposite direction of them, as they began to run after him Amber stopped as she passed the room. "Oh my gosh! Steve!" she gasped, following his sister into the room Steve nearly fell to the floor seeing Bucky tied to a table with a large ray pointed at him. He was mumbling incoherent words, using her strength Amber tore apart the straps that tied him to the table and helped him sit up. "Bucks!" Steve shouted gaining his friend's attention, "Steve!" Bucky smiled leaning into his friend, "Oh Bucky what did they do to you?" Amber whispered with tears in her eyes, turning his head Bucky's eyes went wide seeing his fiancé here, behind enemy lines. "Amber?" he questioned as if she wasn't real, "I'm here, we're both here" she whispered placing a kiss to his forehead. Wrapping one arm around Steve's shoulders and another around Amber, the two twins began to carry their friend out. "I thought you were smaller" Bucky noted on Steve's new physical appearance, "What happened to you?" Bucky asked them, "We joined the army" Amber replied keeping his weight on her, "Did it hurt?" Bucky asked, "A little" Steve replied as he looked for a way out. "Is it permanent?" Bucky wondered, "So far" Steve said as the three of them were almost out of the base when they were stopped by the short man they saw earlier and another man who wore a long black coat, Amber assumed him to be the leader of Hydra. "Captain... Lieutenant... I see that Erskine perfected the super soldier serum" the man said, "Though you are not his favorite creation, his best creation was me" the man darkly said, he began to tear at the skin of his face, pulling it away he revealed his true identity. "You don't have one of those do you?" Bucky asked as his eyes stayed glued to the red skulled man standing in front of them, below them a fire was forming, the building was going to blow and if they didn't move they weren't going to make it. Red skull pulled apart the bridge that they were standing on leaving a large gap between where they were standing and where Red Skull was, they needed to get to the other side in order to exit the building. A single beam was between the two points, taking a deep breath Bucky stepped over the railing and began to walk across the beam without looking down at the fire pit that was bubbling higher and higher, the beam began to shake and suddenly it fell, Amber's heart dropped thinking Bucky was going to fall with it but he jumped at the last second and grabbed onto the railing pulling himself safely over the other side. "Go! Get outta here!" Steve shouted to Bucky, "No! Not without you!" Bucky shouted back, "Steve what do we do?" Amber panicked, "Take my hand" Steve instructed, taking a few steps back the twins shared a look, "We're gonna jump?!" Amber squeaked out, "On three! One... two... three!" Steve shouted, running to the edge of their side the twins jumped over the impossibly large gap making it to where Bucky stood. "We gotta go! Move!" Amber ordered shoving both her boys in the direction of the staircase. 

Making it out of the compound everyone from the U.S. Army was blowing up the Hydra base, destroying their weapons and men. Steve and Amber waited behind until every last soldier was out of there before leading them home.
