The Chase

Linking lines (Chapter 6)

     Amelia sat in the back of the SUV between the two men in suits. They drove into the nearby city. The SUV pulled into a back ally and stopped at a loading dock.
     "Where are we? Why have we come here?" Amelia asked, looking around. The two men got out, and she followed them. They walked into the mandoor and entered the building. There were a lot of boxes stacked up, and workers moving them around. "Where are we? What am I supposed to do? What are they moving? If you expect me to do this kind of work-"
     "Just keep quiet and look ahead." One of the suited men said, "You'll be told whats going on in a bit. Just follow me." Amelia did just that. She followed the men to a backroom that was filled with cigar smoke. Once she was in the room, the men had her sit down in a chair. Johnathan was sitting in the chair across from her. He was looking at some photos. "Thank you, guys. You may leave." The men left the room. Amelia and Johnathan sat there in silence as he flipped through the photos. "Looks like you have a great amount of power about you. Putting up a barrier and being able to maintain it while in a fight. Impressive."
     "Thank you? How do you know about that?"
     "We've been watching you." He tossed the photos out to her. They scattered in a line in front of her. They were stills taken from a video that was made. She picked them up and started looking through them. The scene began to replay in her head. "We have been watching you for some time now. I have to say. You have a great deal of power."
     Amelia didn't hear a word he said. All she heard was Victor's voice telling her how she would never be imprinted with Geoff. Her anger grew again, and her eyes started to turn red.
     "Amelia, I know you're still upset about losing your boyfriend, but you have to calm down." Johnathan got up from his chair and sat on the desk in front of her. "Amelia, this is not the time or the place." He went to reach out to her and touch her shoulder, but just as he was about to, she let out a burst of power. Johnathan flew backward, and the men from before ran inside.  "Don't touch her!" Johnathan warned them. He got up and quickly grabbed Amelia by the shoulders. "Listen to me." She let out another burst of power, but Johnathan anchored himself to the floor. His eyes turned red and were able to link with her. "Stop now. You will obey me, and you will get your revenge." In his hands, he could feel Amelia give into his link. She calmed down and went limp. "Now, these men will take you to a room where you will sit in a chair and let them strap you to it. If you resist them at all, I will hurt your father."
     Johnathan was one of the few vampires that could make persuasion links to other vampires. 

Hello everyone! I am excited to bring you this new entry to The Chase. During my hiatus, I have started school. I am pursuing a career in teaching our young minds.
