We took the train with Sean and Patch but Ash sent them away as soon as we got to Kingston. I was still in awe as to how different this Kingston was. Ash lead me through the clean streets and to the Bentalls shopping center. We went all over, into just about every shop and finally wound up at Costa coffee upstairs. I couldn't believe that Kingston had a nice café in a lovely shopping center. Not a territory claim mark in sight.

"So what was your Kingston like?" Ash liked, sipping her hot chocolate.

"Rough, dirty, run over by chavs," I shrugged.

"Oh..." she laughed. "Doesn't sound nice."

"There wasn't much nice about that place," I agreed.

"Sean told me that you didn't miss it," she said. "Is that true?"

"Yes," I said instantly.

"What about your family?" she asked, going a little paler than usual.

"My foster mother died," I said, then froze.

Ash was in the hall she saw the whole thing, right up to the beheading our mother was telling her to run

How could I have brought something like that up?! I should have lied, said something else... damn it why did I say that?!

"I'm sorry," she said gently, paler than before, then stood up. "Sorry Rose but will you wait for a minute, I need the toilet."

"Do you want me to come with you?" I asked, standing too.

"No, no," she smiled. "It's just down there, I'll be fine."

"Alright," I said uncertainly, sitting back down.

I watched her go then pulled her bags closer to mine so they wouldn't be stolen. I'd never had a real shopping trip like this before. It was... fun. Then I had to go and mention my foster mother dying. I just hoped that Ash was alright in the bathroom. I sat for a while, drinking my hot chocolate and watching people walk in front of the café, waiting for Ash.

A girl walked into the café, she looked about nineteen. She had long blonde hair to her waist and topaz blue eyes. She was also pregnant... and very familiar. I watched her walk to the cashier and order something, trying to place where I'd seen her in my mind. I definitely knew here from somewhere.

"How far along are you?" the woman behind the counter asked her.

"Five months," the girl laughed. "Still a while to go."

"My sister's just about the same," the woman smiled. "She hasn't hit the cravings yet, we're all waiting for it."

"I crave hot chocolate," the girl said, pulling her long hair over one shoulder. "That's it for the minute."

"Well I'll have one of those up right away," the woman grinned. "What size would you like?"

"Grande," she replied and fished a wallet out of her small purse.
