The snow fell heavily, blanketing all of middle earth. Its pure white color fooling those who look upon it and think of innocence. Innocence was something that strayed far from these lands. The pure white was but a sheathe that hid the impurities from the eyes of the gods.

It was slowing you down, the cold nipping at your cheeks as you barreled forward, jumping over tree roots.  Faster, move Faster!  You willed, no- you begged your legs. The undying feeling that time was running thin as the echo of clashing metal met your ears.  The powdery snow flying up into the air as you ran with elven speed.  The adrenaline coursing through your body as you hurried through the blanketed terrain only pushing you faster and faster as your beloveds face flashed in your mind.

You finally made it, only pausing movement once you had reached the edge of the frozen lake. The scene before you made your body shake in both fear and anger. You friends and your lover sitting upon their knees before the filthy orcs. How dare they touch them. How dare they.  That filth will pay.

The number of orcs were far greater than that of the dwarves but you knew that you all could overcome this if only the chance was given. You had no time to waste as Azog raised his blade to behead Thorin, without an ounce of hesitance you strike an arrow into his arm, earning a roar of pain and raw fury.

All eyes turned to face you, the dwarves eyes filled with relief at the sight of you. "Kill her! Kill the she-elf!" Azog barked in black speech, black tar slipping from his mouth. The attention of all orc had been turned to you, arrows began to whiz past you and the brutes began approaching. You fought with all the strength you had. "Fili! Think fast!" you shouted as you shot the archers and threw a dagger to Fili, allowing him to begin to cut the others loose. "Hurry it up now!" Kili said in panic as he watched you clash blades with a bruting orc.

The exceptionally large orc approached you, black blood dripping from his horrifying, jagged grin. You lifted your sword and just as he swung his blade you lept into the air and sliced his head from his shoulders. As his head fell into the black stained snow you ran forward meeting every opponent, fighting with grace and ferocity.  "Oh, no you don't scum!" You growled as you saw an orc approaching the still bound dwarves. You ran full speed, sliding beneath the legs of the orc before stabbing him in his lower abdomen. You paused to look up and met the eyes of Kili who was staring at you with a proud smile that you returned.

Once the dwarves had been freed the battle got even more gruesome. The frost upon the lake had been nearly completely coated in the ink of the orcs.  You had fallen by the legs of an orc and stabbed it in the calf, twisting the blade and quickly finishing him off as it hit the ground. "Kili watch out!" you cried as you saw an axe being thrown at him and the panic that flashed on his face as he turned. You ran as fast as possible and practically tackled him to the ground. "My mountain blossom is this really the place for this?" he teased and you rolled your eyes "You're welcome my prince" you said sarcastically before jumping back up and pulling him up. You both stood back to back "Let's finish this" you sighed and you felt him nod. "Y/n, after this - if you'll let me, i'll make an honest woman out of you" you chuckled " Of course, Kili."

You fought back to back for what felt like hours, until finally the sounds of metal clashing had silenced.  It was unnervingly quiet as you looked around everyone was there.  Everyone had lived! You felt joy and relief fill your chest and tears spring to your eyes as everyone looked to you with smiles. Thorin walked over and gently clapped a hand onto your shoulder "You saved us, you have saved the line of Durin" he stated with a watery chuckle. "I saved my friends, to me that is what matters most" you said and grinned and Thorin couldn't help but mirror your joy.
