TWENTY FOUR

tyler walked in his house with a sigh. he would much rather be anywhere else but here. he hated being there. coming home was supposed to be comforting, but for tyler it was the complete opposite. coming home felt exhausting for tyler.

he wasn't close with any of siblings, never has been. the only reason why he even remotely had a relationship with his parents is because of basketball.

tyler tried to have a relationship with his family, don't get him wrong. it drove him crazy that he they didn't get along. but as soon as he tried, they somehow managed to piss him off so he just stopped trying.

the sound of jay's toy fire truck broke him out of his thoughts. he snapped his eyes towards him and rolled them.

"is there any reason why you brought that fucking toy down here?" he hissed at his little brother.

"don't talk to your brother like that. he's just a kid." kelly scolded her oldest.

instead of replying, tyler grabbed his stuff and walked up the stairs and to his room. sitting on his bed, he began scrolling through snapchat and watched random people's stories and opened his snaps. tyler opened the one from josh and it was just a picture of abbie playing with slime. smiling, he sent josh a snap back of his face.

tyler's phone began ringing and he looked and saw it was brendon. "yeah?" he said answering it.

"yoooo what are you doing right now?" brendon asked.

"literally nothing. what's the move?"

"darren and I are about to roll up. you wanna come smoke with us? sarah's driving." brendon explained. sarah doesn't smoke so she would be the only one sober.

"hell yeah, just lemme know when you're about to pull up." tyler said. he heard brendon say "okay." and he ended the call. tyler plugged his phone in to get some charge on it while he waited around for brendon.

once he heard him honk he grabbed his phone and walked down the stairs.

"i'm going with brendon, i'll be back later." he announced before leaving the house.

he walked up to brendon's car with a smile and got in the backseat with darren.

"hey." he said. sarah pulled out of the driveway and and began driving.

"what's up?" brendon replied as he pulled the lighter out of his pocket. tyler watch him light the blunt and took a hit. he took a few more hits before passing it to darren.

while tyler was waiting for darren to pass it, he opened josh's snap which was just a picture of his face. laughing, tyler took a picture of him and darren and sent it.

"I swear you and I hangout more than josh and I do." darren said as he passed the blunt to tyler.

he took a huge hit before replying. "it's crazy how that works. guess what he told me the other day?" tyler asked him.

"oh God what did he say?" darren said fearfully as he watched tyler take another hit before giving it to brendon.

"he told me that you were his first kiss." tyler deadpanned.

"WHAT?" sarah yelled before they all erupted into giggles.

"I can't believe he told you that," darren laughed.

"but yes it is true." he admitted.

"didn't he date hayley freshman year?" brendon asked.

"oh my gosh yes that was the funniest thing he was so miserable the whole time. that's what being in the closet will do for you." darren joked.

tyler ignored the way his facial expressions changed for a moment after hearing darren say that. he ignored it and opened josh's snap which was asking him where his invite was.

his heart fluttered and he responded with him shrugging his shoulders.

they all drove around for a little while longer before they pulled up in tylers driveway.

"dude we hotboxed the fuck outta your car." darren laughed as he sprayed cologne on to him and tyler.

brendon shrugged. "it's all cool. i'll see you tomorrow at school ty."

tyler walked in the house and saw his family eating dinner. his munchies started to kick in and he went and made him a plate before sitting down.

"tyler are you high?" his dad asked him.

"yep." he replied.

"you stink so bad." maddy said scrunching up her nose.

tyler shrugged. "so do you but we don't say anything."

after tyler finished eating, he went upstairs and took a quick shower. he planned on going to jenna's for the night because he didn't want to be at home.

once he did that, he grabbed his school bag and some stuff for the morning. he texted jenna that he was on his way and walked downstairs.

"i'm going to jenna's." his family all nodded and he walked out of the house.

jenna lived down the street from him, which is how they met when they were little and became best friends, so he always walked over there.

when he arrived, he knocked on the door. moment later, jenna's mom appeared.

"hello tyler!" she said brightly. "she's up in her room."

tyler nodded his head and walked to her room. when he opened the door, he saw her sitting in bed on her computer. she looked up and smiled.

"hey." he said before pecking her lips. she giggled and pulled him closer to her.

"I feel like I haven't seen you in days." she answered honestly.

tyler hummed. "i'm sorry jen i've been really busy." he replied distractingly while scrolling on his phone.

his phone buzzed and he laughed slightly at josh's response to their conversation.

josh: ew stop talking about my ass youre fucking weird
tyler: LOL OKAY 
josh: 😔👋🏽
tyler: nnnooo come back
josh: no ur ugly
tyler: i think ur cute
josh: ok
tyler: literally fuck you
josh: as you wiiiishhhh

jenna frowned slightly at tyler not paying attention to her and she began unbuckling his belt. tyler's eyes widened and he titled his head back.

"oh okay—" he said as he let her do whatever she wanted to him.

but all he could think about the whole time was one certain brunette.
