The door flew open before Romans hand even had a chance to connect. He stood there, speechless, staring at Virgil. Virgil, whose face was covered in poorly concealed pain. Virgil, whose sweater was bunched and wrinkled. Virgil, whose bangs fell over his eyes in the way that they only do when he's hurt. Roman felt his heart aching as his jaw lay agape.
Virgil was also stunned into silence. What on earth was Roman doing here? Virgil glanced behind him and felt his jaw drop. Behind Roman, there had to be about a thousand candles laid about, all lit, basking Roman in a golden glow. Rose petals littered the ground, and- Was that a horse? Virgil was impressed. And scared. And... happy?
Roman watched Virgil's eyes scan over the contents of the room. Say something, you idiot! He thought to himself. How the heckity-heck was he supposed to explain this? But he couldn't say a word. And Virgil was right there, staring at it all. This was humiliating. He had to get rid of it! He had to laugh it off! He had to do something! WHY WASN'T HE DOING SOMETHING?
Roman was panicking- this much was obvious to Virgil. Another thing that was obvious to Virgil was what was happening. And he knew he could either back down... or take a chance. Well, f*ck. He thought to himself as he threw himself forward, pressing his lips against Roman's.
Roman might just die. These things happen.
Stupidstupidstupidstupidstupid. Virgil pulled back. Idiot!
Roman felt Virgil pulling away and without thinking, grabbed onto his waist and pulled the embodiment of teen angst back towards him. He kissed him slowly, taking a moment to run his hand through Virgils soft, bushy hair. He pulled back and stared into Virgil's dark eyes. "I-"
"Please don't start singing," Virgil said desperately. This... this was perfect. He didn't need talking, he needed Roman. They would talk later. This, right now... This was real, and this was now. And he needed more of it.
Roman couldn't help but smile as he kissed Virgil again. This was right. He knew it was. This little emo punk was beautiful, and he would never let him go.
