Deceit knocked on Virgil's door, his heart racing. Patton and Logan may have been extremely helpful, but that didn't change that fact that Deceit still had to actually execute what they had decided upon.
He looked down at the bouquet of purple lilies and irises he held, trying not to adjust the flowers out of pure nerves.
The door opened, and Deceit jumped, cursing himself for feeling so nervous.
But his nerves evaporated as soon as he saw Virgil's beautiful face. His hair was messy and his eyeshadow was gone, but Deceit had never seen someone look so beautiful.
"Hey, V," He said with a smile. "Happy Valentines Day," He held out the flowers with a flourish, the smile on his face growing more genuine the longer he looked at his boyfriend.
Virgil took the flowers with a sigh, shaking his head in disbelief. Deceit would have been worried, were it not for the smile on Virgil's face. He grabbed the front of Deceits shirt, pulling them together quickly. Virgil leaned forward, so their faces were just inches apart, before saying with a smirk,
"You forgot, didn't you?"
"No," Deceit lied automatically, and Virgil shook his head again. Deceit sighed, and asked, "What gave it away?"
"How about the fact that it's nearly midnight?"
Deceit's mouth formed an 'o' as he looked around. Virgil's bed was unmade, and it was obvious that he had just rolled out of it moments before. He wasn't wearing his eyeshadow, which should have been a dead giveaway. And, though it was freakishly adorable, Deceit had to admit that Virgil had a bad case of bedhead.
"I am so sorry-" Deceit apologized, but Virgil only rolled his eyes, pressing his lips against his boyfriends in an act of forgiveness. Deceit kissed him back, forgetting everything else.
The kiss quickly grew more intense, and the two sides stumbled inside clumsily. Deceit hastily unzipped and removed Virgil's sweater, leaning forward to push Virgil back onto his bed. He peppered gentle kisses all over Virgil's neck and chest, feeling his boyfriend's chest move rapidly beneath him.
Virgil threw Deceits hat across the room and the rest of their clothes soon joined it and Virgil's sweater on the ground.
Deceit broke away from Virgil just the smallest bit. Their chests were still pressed together, and Virgil's arms were still slung around Deceit's neck, but now he was able to make eye contact.
He kissed Virgil again, quickly, and said honestly, "I love you, Virgil."
Virgil blushed and mirrored Deceit's action, kissing him before whispering, "I love you, too,"
Deceit smiled. "Happy Valentines Day," He said, and Virgil laughed.
And Deceit laughed.
And he thought to himself, I probably won.
