How could he forget?

Literally, how?

It's an international holiday, for god's sake.

But here Deceit was, pacing his room, avoiding his boyfriend, and generally freaking out.

And the worst part was, he had no clue what to get Virgil. Every idea he came up with just didn't seem good enough. He really wanted to impress Virgil, to show him that he cared.

He cared so much, yet this was impossible. It would have been easier to convince Thomas he was a bad person yet again than to think of a gift. Or a gesture. Or whatever he was supposed to get his boyfriend.

Deceit didn't even know the rules, how the fuck was he supposed to play the game- let alone win?

Was the game even winnable?

Deceit brushed that thought away quickly; confusing metaphors were not going to help him.

He looked at his door angrily. He needed help. Which was unfortunate, given his reputation, but also given the person he needed to go to for help.

Groaning loudly and for far too long, Deceit dragged himself to his door and opened it. He looked around carefully, not wanting to be caught out in the open by Virgil, and started sneaking down the hall.

He then gave up on that, because sneaking was not going to help him avoid Virgil, and broke into a full-blown sprint.

Deceit didn't really give a second thought to kicking open Patton's door at a sprint while screaming, "I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!", but as soon as he was inside he realized that he probably should have.

"You know," Logan said calmly from Patton's bed, very obviously not wearing any clothing, "This may be part of the reason as to why people don't like you,"

Deceit was stunned into silence, at first because of Logan's appearance in Patton's room, then because of Logan's... well, appearance. Deceit took in Logan's attire (or lack thereof) with a small smirk, nodding in appreciation.

"Okay!" Patton shouted, scrambling to throw a blanket over Logan while climbing out of his bed. He fell out with a loud thud, drawing Deceits attention away from Logan. He had forgotten that Patton was here, or even why he, himself, was here. "Thanks for coming, time to go!" Patton popped up in front of Deceit, a different blanket wrapped tightly around himself. He began ushering Deceit towards the door.

"No, no no no, wait!" Deceit held out his hands defensively, "I apologize for arriving unannounced, I wasn't aware-"

"That I would be in the nude?" Logan called shamelessly from Patton's bed, holding up a vocab card from god knows where.

"Logan!" Patton chastised.

"Come on now, it's Valentines Day, is he really going to bust down peoples doors without knocking and expect decency?"

"I really am sorry about that-" Deceit started, but was cut off again by Patton.

"Uh-huh, sure,"

"I need your help!" Deceit yelled, catching the attention of both the other sides once again. "I- I don't know what to get Virgil for... Today," He admitted.

"You didn't get Virgil a gift?" Patton asked, sounding insulted on behalf of Deceits boyfriend.

"It's not that I didn't want to- I just sort of forgot," Deceit attempted to defend himself, but given the look on Patton's face, he was doing a poor job. "Not about Virgil!" He tried to amend, "About Valentines Day."

"Oh, boy," Logan said, still on the bed behind Deceit and Patton.

"Just help me," Deceit asked, prepared to beg. Unwilling, but prepared. "Please,"

"Fine," Patton said after a minute, causing both Deceit and Logan to look at him in shock. Patton noticed Logan's look, and explained, "It's my dark son, Lo. I can't just leave him hanging." Logan turned back to Deceit and suddenly stepped very close.

"Although," Patton said quietly, "If you hurt him in any way, I will not hesitate to destroy you."

Patton's eyes were so fierce that all Deceit could say was, "Yes... sir?" though it sounded like a question through Deceit's confusion.

"Good!" Patton returned to his cheerful self, clapping his hands together joyously. "Let's get to work then!"
