Star and I were in my room. She was helping me get dressed for tonight. The scars on my face that Courtney clawed in there were very noticeable. Star was here to try to cover it all up for me so Khalil wouldn't notice.
"Yo, look at my face." I whined.
"Girl, calm down. Don't let this ruin tonight."
"I know I know." I sighed. "I hope he doesn't notice anything."
Star was trying her best with my makeup while I only grew impatient . When she was finished I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. It's amazing how makeup can make you feel like a whole new person. My skin looked flawless.
"No need to thank me. I know I'm a magic maker." She cut me off before I can say something.
"Cocky much?" I laughed.
I started to put on my dress when the doorbell rang and I looked at Star with an expression of panic. I wasn't ready and he was already here.
"Goodness. Let him in." I said quickly pulling up my dress up which was only pulled up to my waist. She walked out of the room to go and fetch him.
I chose to leave my hair straight. I wanted to curl it but I'd obviously ran out of time. I could hear them talking from all the way up here. I quickly put my credit card and phone in my purse. I walked down the stairs trying not to make my heels make noise or even skip a step and fall on my ass. I was known to be very clumsy.
Khalil and Star were in the living room laughing at something on her phone. I walked in their line of sight which diverted his attention from the device.
"Damn." He said, looking me up and down. It was the first time he'd seen me all dressed under and not in casual attire. He stood up and walked to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Who you getting all sexy for?"
"Just for you." I said to him almost seductively as I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a small peck.
"I'm still here, save that shit for later!" Star yelled causing Khalil and I to laugh.
I heard the faint sound of the garage door opening and I knew that meant my mom had arrived.
"My mom's home." I said to him like we were two little kids about to be in trouble.
"Your mom?!" He asked nervously, eyes almost bulging out of his head.
He never actually met my mom before. He usually left before she came home from work and most of the time we spent at his place.
"Yeah, that's what I said." I replied in a smart tone.
He scratched at his head nervously. "I'm scared."
I giggled. "You wanted to be my boyfriend, right? Don't act brand new now."
When my mom came through the door I greeted her with a hug. "Hey mom."
"Hey sweety." She looked me up and down. "Where you going dressed up like that?"
"On a date. With my boyfriend, Khalil." I told her grabbing Khalil's hand to hold.
