Layla panicked, and her eyes widened in surprise as she looked at who was holding her against the door of her home, she tried screaming, but with her mouth tightly blocked she couldn't get anything out. She began hyperventilating, and began kicking and fighting her way out of his hold. "You're ours." he told her in a deep throaty voice. She was losing oxygen, and strength, and was just about to faint until she felt herself freed.
She bent over trying to regain air, lifted her head to see what the hell was going on and what she witnessed next, had her dropping to the ground, fainting.
Hours later, she awoke in a bed that she didn't recognize, and her heart began to race as she quickly sat herself up, looking around. The room was dark, but felt cozy. The bedroom door opened slowly, and nervously scooted herself back in the bed then relaxed when she saw that it was Alaric coming into the room. "Where am I?" she asked him as he approached her, carrying a glass of juice.
"You're at my place, you'll be safe here for the time being." he said, sitting down on the bed next to her, handing her a glass of orange juice "Here, drink some of this."
She took the glass from his hand and drank some of the juice. "What the hell happened?" she asked as she pulled the glass away from her lips.
"Do you not remember?"
She looked away, thinking. Then looked back at him looking a bit confused "I remember a man, or someone that had me pinned against my door, telling me that I'm theirs... who was that?"
"That was a Treacher, they're similar to a Zombie, and very dangerous."
"Treacher? she asked confused "I've never heard of them before... but I've seen them in my dreams."
"Whatever you do, stay away from them, even in your dreams... they'll kill you. What else do you remember?" he curiously asked.
What he was explaining to her had her feeling nervous, scared, and curious as to who or what he was. The longer she looked and listened to him, she knew he was the man who had been in her dreams all these years. She leaned forward, and looked him in the eyes "It's really you, isn't it?" she asked quietly.
He looked at her and wanted to tell her who he was, but didn't want to scare her. All he wanted to do was protect her, and keep her away from the animals that were after her. "You're extremely pale, you need to finish that orange juice and get some rest. "We can talk later."
"No, I demand to know what is going on around here..." Frustrated, she set her glass down on the nightstand next to her, and got out of bed. She stood up and felt lightheaded, causing her to fall over and Alaric catching her. He got her back into the bed, and covered her up "Please, drink the rest of the juice and get some rest. I promise we'll talk after you get the rest you need."
He headed out of the room to let her get some rest. He walked into the living room and sat down. "So, what does she remember?" Adrian, Alaric's brother asked.
He shook his head and leaned his head back onto the couch "Not much. She remembers the treachers, but nothing after I saved her from one of them."
Adrian sat down across from him and leaned forward. "You do know what you have to do to save her completely from them."
"Yes, I know." he sighed.
"What are you going to do about it?"
"I don't know... she knows I've been the one saving her this entire time... she keeps asking if I'm the one who has been in her dreams."
Adrian laughed and stood up "Well, you do what you have to do. I'm thirsty, and about to go out." he said wiggling his eyebrows.
Alaric laid on the couch after Adrian left, debating on what to do with Layla. He liked her, and didn't want to see anything happen to her, especially after doing what he could protecting her from them all these years. He had no clue why they wanted her but was determined to end the reasons why.
