Adrian walked over to the body, stood there and studied the man. He ran his fingers through his hair, quickly looked over at Layla, then back at the man and kneeled. He began unbuttoning his shirt, and noticed a bubble along his chest. He tilted his head to the side curious as to what it was, pinched and started pulling up.
As he was pulling, his eyes widened in surprise and uncovered that he was wearing a mask. "Son of a..." he whispered. He completely pulled it off, and covered his mouth with his hand, shocked, but not surprised. He then started digging through his pockets, looking to see if he could find any information on him.
"Nothing..." he sighed "Damn, they're good."
Angeline walked in the house, saw Layla lying on the couch asleep, and Adrian kneeling on the ground hovering over the body. She walked over to him, and looked down at the lifeless body "Adrian? What's going on?"
He looked up, and shook his head "Layla got herself in a little bit of trouble." he groaned, then proceeded to explain as to what had all happened. Angeline walked over to Layla and pulled a vile out of her pocket "You and Alaric are lucky I carry this around with me."
"What's that?"
"Emergency blood." she said, showing him the vile of blood. She sat down on the edge of the couch, lifted Layla's head, and tried waking her. "How long has she been like this?" she asked, after she couldn't get her to wake up, and saw that she was whiter than a ghost.
Adrian looked at the time, and thought oh shit to himself "Well... I guess for a few hours now." he said nervously, knowing he should have been trying to wake her instead of messing with the body.
"She's completely out cold." She placed her finger underneath her nose to make sure she was still breathing, and felt relieved when she felt the warm air against her skin. "She's breathing, but very slow... we need to get her to open her eyes somehow, and get her to feed."
Alaric came back and had three men with him, he directed them over into the living room and had them sit down on the open couch. "How is she doing?" he asked worried, looking at Angeline.
"Not good, I can't get her to wake up, and she's hardly breathing." Angeline responded, she stopped talking when she saw a girl standing by the door, looking nervous. She looked at Alaric and squinted her eyebrows, wondering why he brought Layla's friend over "Alaric... why is she here?"
Alaric turned to Alyssa, and waved for her to come to him. "Because... Layla needs her friend, especially right now."
Alyssa slowly walked closer to Alaric, while keeping her eyes glued to Layla. She wasn't sure what to think, and was worried for her best friend. Alaric placed his hand on the small of Alyssa's back, urging her to see if she could get Layla to open her eyes. "She might respond to you; she was wanting to see you earlier."
She kneeled onto the floor, looked at Layla and fought the tears that were wanting to form. "Is she dead?" she asked, with a crackle in her voice.
"No, but she will be soon if we can't wake her." Angeline snarked, as she walked over and stood next to Alyssa, sighing as she looked at Layla. "This isn't good, if something happens to her, we're all in deep shit."
Alaric had Angeline and Adrian follow him into the other room. He explained what he told Alyssa about Layla, telling her everything, and that he brought her there to see if she could help with Layla.
"How did she react?" Adrian curiously asked, feeling unsure if he could trust her.
"She screamed, cried, and tried running away from me. It took a lot of convincing without using mind control to get her to come here with me, and one of the reasons why it took so long to get back here."
