Alaric drove Layla over to the woods, then walked for what she thought seemed like hours. She stopped to look around, and placed her hands on her hips as she looked at Alaric "This doesn't look familiar to me."
"That's because in your dreams, I was always rescuing you, and flying you back home. I was always trying to erase your mind, but I guess it never worked with you." he grinned, then chuckled a little. "We're almost there."
"Hopefully that box is still there... I wonder how they knew to hide it there?"
"Your guess is as good as mine, but I'm sure they were told about the spot, and figured nobody would mess with it." he said, grabbing her hand. "Come on, let's hurry before they realize you're out here."
They continued walking and finally got to a small home that was buried in branches, and with some trees laying over the top. "Are you sure this is it? I was thinking it was that run down shed." she asked, looking confused as she walked closer to the home.
"Well, what did she exactly tell you?" he asked, knowing this was the place she was talking about.
"She told me to go to the place that was always in my dreams, and once I'm there, I'm supposed to find a black box that was hidden inside." She started walking towards the door, and stopped to look at the shape of it, wondering if it was even safe to go inside.
He walked over to her, and placed his hand on her shoulder. "That's all she said?"
"Yes, that's when I assumed it was the shed, it was locked, remember?"
He turned her around, and smirked "I remember, but I'm pretty sure this is where she is talking about."
"How are you so sure?"
"Because, this was her home... your home."
She quickly turned around and stared at what she thought was nothing, just something that appeared in her dreams. "The other night I dreamt of a man walking me to an area, Trevor appeared, and then my dream went black. Is this where I was?" she quietly asked as she placed her hand on the door.
"Yes." he responded, sighing.
"Who was that man?"
"I don't know..." he lied.
"Forget I even asked." she said as she pushed the door open. She knew he was lying, and felt him trying to block her from reading his mind. She peeked her head inside and scanned the room before walking in.
He leaned his head back, and sighed "I know what you're thinking, and like you were told, you need to figure it out."
Being stubborn, she ignored him as he spoke to her, and stepped a foot inside. The moment she walked in, she felt a cold wind run through her body, her hair flew up, then rested down against her back.
"She's here." she said softly.
"Who, your mother?"
"Yes... I just felt her touch me." she smiled.
While inside, they heard creaking noises, and branches hitting against the house. "It sounds like the house is ready to collapse." Layla said nervously.
"It's just the wind... but you really need to hurry." he said, as he looked out the window. He could hear whispering and couldn't figure out where they were coming from, or who they were.
She was afraid to walk around any longer, every time she stepped, the flooring made loud noises, and was afraid of giving off the location of where they were. "I don't even know where to look... it's so dark in here."
