Layla gave him a curious look, she noticed how tense he became when she asked him about the treachers and now wanted to know more about them "By your expression, looks like you know a lot about them, tell me... what do you know about them?"
Trevor slammed the rest of his beer, and tossed his bottle on the ground "Why are you so curious about them? I mean, what brought this on?" He began to get fidgety and stood up "I need another beer; would you like one?"
"I guess." she said, sounding unsure after noticing how nervous he was getting.
He came back with a couple beers, handed her one, and sat down. He saw the look she was giving him; her leg was crossed over the other, bouncing it around and biting her bottom lip. He sat forward and sighed "Treachers can be dangerous, especially if they want something, and you don't want to get on their bad side, they'll kill you just to get what they want."
"I've lived here for eighteen years, and have never heard of them. All I've ever heard about was that this town was haunted for many years and that there were vampires, zombies, and witches..." she paused, and thought about what he just said "What the fuck do treachers want?"
He shrugged his shoulders "It was always power, they were running this town until vampires arrived, then all hell broke loose, causing a war with everyone."
She leaned back in her chair, wondering why the hell they were after her, and how it all started after she moved to Crowburg. "Treachers..." she mumbled. "Why have you never told me about them before?"
He stared at the fire, picked up a stick and stirred the fire "I never thought it was important, it was years ago that they were around, and I just never liked to talk about them."
"Why?"
"Because..." he said quickly.
"Do you think they could still be around?"
He looked away from the fire, and over to her "I suppose it could be possible. They're good at disguising themselves."
Layla was beginning to feel uncomfortable, and was feeling some strange vibes. She thought she heard a noise behind her and looked behind her. Something didn't feel right, she looked back at Trevor and stood up "I better get going, I'm tired and have to be up early."
"You can stay here if you'd like." he says, standing up. He walked over to her and placed his hands on her hips, causing her breathing to hitch. She had a vision that flashed before her eyes, it was quick and didn't understand what it meant.
She took a step back and looked away "I'm just going to go home, thanks for the beers, and for the talk." she quickly turned around, and walked fast to her car. Trevor rested his hands on his hips, watching her walk away, and bit down on his lip, thinking.
Layla got in her car and backed out of the driveway fast, she didn't know what to think and thought Trevor was acting different than normal. As she drove home, she tried figuring out what she saw, it flashed so quick she had no time to see what it was, especially when she didn't expect it.
She got home and looked all around her while walking towards her door. She still felt the same presence in her car that she felt on her way to the restaurant, and had a feeling she was being followed. She locked her door once she got inside and walked over to her father's den. She walked into the room and stared at the wall of books he had.
She hadn't been in the room since before he died, and was curious as to what he had in the room. She always felt they were murdered, and thought there was no way that he would have drove over a cliff with her mother inside. She didn't know what she was looking for, but just started going through what was on his desk, looking for anything that would stand out.
