Layla was feeling extremely thirsty, and her eyes quickly turned red when she looked at the group of partiers that Alaric had put a trance on for her. Her mouth began to water and couldn't wait to sink her teeth into them, as she now had eight men, and women to choose from. She walked over to the first one of choice, tilted his head to the side, leaned forward and bit into his neck, enjoying the taste of him.
Alaric hoped she wasn't about to lose control the longer he watched her feed. As she was feeding off the last one, she heard some noises nearby, pulled away, and looked the other direction while dropping the person to the ground.
Alaric also heard the noises, and grabbed a hold of Layla's hand, trying to pull her away "Let's go, they're not too far away."
"What about them?" she asked, with her mouth covered in blood. She turned her head, and looked at the people who were still in a daze.
"We don't have time; we need to leave." he instructed.
He began pulling on her arm, and it was like pulling on a bag of bricks, as she wouldn't move "Layla! Now!" he insisted, knowing they were getting close. She still wouldn't listen, he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist, and flew them up to the top branch of a tree.
While atop of the tree, she looked down at the humans, and closed her eyes. She quietly spoke to them, and spoke through each one of their minds. Her arms raised with the palm of her hands facing up, and wiggled her fingers, then snapped her fingers.
While Layla was doing her thing, Alaric kept his ears and eyes wide open, then saw the creatures moving in. Just as she snapped her fingers, Alaric snapped his head towards her, and lowered her hands while shushing her "Be quiet." he whispered, then pointed over to them.
She looked back down at the humans who were now huddled in a circle holding onto each other, and raised them up high, floating on air. Alaric widened his eyes as he watched on, and wondered if she was beginning to figure out what kind of strengths she had.
Just as a couple treachers moved in beneath them, Layla jumped off the tree limb, falling onto one of the treachers. Her fangs came out and began to attack.
Alaric shook his head, jumped down to help, and landed on another treacher, snapping their neck. "Dammit Layla..." he snapped "Two more are coming..." he looked up, and saw the group still floating on air, and groaned. He knew he should have just brought her home after her first feeding. He looked down, and over to where Layla was and panicked when he didn't see her. He turned his head the other way, and watched her snap the necks of the other treachers. He flew over to her, grabbed her and ordered they leave immediately.
She eyed Alaric, then looked past him "There's one more coming."
"Let's go, there's more than one coming... they just sent out their weaklings first, to watch and see what you would do."
Layla lowered the group back to the ground, quickly healed their wounds and insisted they run and get out of there. Alaric finally got her to leave, and as they were approaching the road a treacher walked around a tree, stopping them. "Where do you two think you're going?" he said, in a crackly deep voice.
Layla looked around, looking for a way out and saw more coming towards them. The treacher walked closer and reached for Layla "She's ours."
"The hell she is." Alaric snapped, attacking the treacher as he grabbed a hold of Layla.
Layla closed her eyes, trying to envision what was going to happen next, and saw flames. She wasn't sure what that meant and opened her eyes. The treacher dropped Layla to the ground as Alaric snapped its neck. She rolled onto her stomach, lifted her head, and saw the other treachers approaching. She stood up and felt fire within her body, her arms raised and aimed towards them, shooting balls of fire at them.
